"Mm… okay." Nix yawned a bit and nuzzled against Halm's shoulder, purring softly. "What're you gonna make, then?" He asked.
"Mm… okay." Nix yawned a bit and nuzzled against Halm's shoulder, purring softly. "What're you gonna make, then?" He asked.
"Well, I'm going to be making some chicken," Halm explained. He pulled out a pan with one hand, setting down with some oil to heat up. He hummed a little as he started to cook, holding Nix in one arm.
"Mmkay." Nix lay his head on Halm's shoulder, still purring quietly. "Did they say where they were going?" He asked.
"They didn't," Halm said, "But I think they headed to the caves since Zachary grabbed a flashlight." He finished up the chicken, just sliding it onto a plate and carrying it over to the table.
Nix nodded a bit. "Makes sense, I guess…" He kept his eyes on the chicken when Halm picked it up, growling softly.
Halm sighed a little, sitting down with Nix in his lap. He set the plate down, not saying anything about the growl.
"I'm on assume I'll be hand feeding you again?" He said.
Nix nodded, reaching out to grab the chicken. He had his ears pricked up and his tail had puffed out a bit.
"What's wrong?" Halm finally asked. He picked up the knife and fork, going to cut off a bit of the chicken for Nix.
"Hmm? What do you mean?" Nix looked up at Halm, confused. The soft growling stopped briefly, but returned as soon as he looked back at the chicken.
"You're growling. At the chicken." Halm let out a quiet breath. This was a little cute, but he didn't know what was going on.
"Am I?" Nix fixated his gaze on the chicken again, still growling softly.
Halm finally let out a little chuckle. He cut off a bit of the meat, holding it up for Nix to eat.
"Yes, you are," Halm said with a little smile.
Nix took the chicken in his teeth, flicking his tail back and forth as he growled. He seemed pleased with the food and clearly wasn't actually angry or anything.
Halm smiled, chuckling again. Nix was too much. He took the fork away from Nix's mouth, going to cut off some more.
"I'm glad you like it," he noted.
Nix nodded a bit and swallowed, growling quietly again while he waited for Halm to give him more food.
Nix really was adorable. Halm lifted the food up and ate it himself before getting another for Nix. He chuckled.
Nix watched the fork closely, silent other than his needy growls. When Halm brought him more food, he shoved the fork in his mouth and started gnawing on the metal.
"Nix," Halm said, laughing a bit, "chewing on the fork is bad for your teeth." He did his best to pull the fork out of Nix's mouth.
Nix huffed a bit and let him take it, chewing on just the chicken instead. "But I'm hungry…" He mumbled.
"I know, I know," Halm said with a smile. He cut off some more chicken for Nix.
"Just be patient, okay?"
"Mmmmmm…" Nix huffed again and huddled closer to Halm. "I don't like being patient, though… that's not very fun."
"I'm sorry, but I can't do anything about it not being fun," Halm said with a faint smile as he held up more food for Nix.
"And it doesn't take long. It'll take longer the more you talk, though."
Nix took the chicken from off the fork, flicking his tail again as he ate. "But I'm hungry, though…"
"Well, you wouldn't have to wait if you didn't have me feeding you like this," Halm pointed out. He cut off some more chicken for Nix.
Nix huffed indignantly as he ate the chicken Halm offered him. "Well, I can't use utensils, so it would be slower if I did it."
"I tried to teach you," Halm pointed out with a chuckle as he gave Nix more chicken.
"But it's hard and it makes me feel dumb. I like this better." Nix chewed the chicken quietly and yawned when he swallowed.
"Alright then," Halm said gently. He got some more chicken, which was beginning to run out, and offered it to Nix.
Nix shoved it in his mouth and huddled up against Halm, now purring contentedly instead of growling. He stretched his hands out in front of himself a bit and yawned.
Last bite. Halm held Nix gently as he lifted it up.
"Feeling better now?" He asked with a smile.
