Andre nodded a little bit, returning the thumbs-up and flicking a few of the controls. "Go dry off before you catch a cold, Carsyn." he said. Not firmly, just in a gentle manner. More of a suggestion than an order. "We don't want you getting sick, now."

At that reminder, Carsyn's cheeks colored a rosy pink, and she ducked away to find a means to dry off to do just that. She searched around the room and finally found a discarded and relatively clean towel, then used it to scrub the water from her hair and clothes. Once she was dry enough to not be in danger of catching a cold, as Andre had so kindly warned her against, she hung it up and came back over to pat the man's head in thanks.

Andre smiled up at her at the head pat, then went back to his work. He used the compass and map to ensure they were still going in the right direction, still headed just for the port that the captain had intended for them to go to.

Allison heard something off. It wasnt very bad, but it still needed to be fixed. She went over to fix it.She fixed it really quickly.

Jax carefully climbed down the mast, with a few near-death experiences. She sprinted into the control room, soaked to the bone.
"Anybody have a towel? I gotta dry off, or I might catch cold, and that can sometimes lead to a fever. Fevers aren't good."

"Oh, well an excellent cook needs excellent people to cook for.", the cook added. He glanced back at Carsyn giving her smile and slight head bow. Carefully, he took a few steps back making sure that he did not get in her way.

Rael just stood still in the spot he was in; he wasn't sure if Carsyn or someone else would come over. He didn't want to be a bother or in the way. Staying silent, he listened to the storm outside before running footsteps came closer to the control room. Seeing Jax completely drenched was sort of a surprise, although the cook wasn't sure who to expect. His hand went to his pocket where the pink rag was, but then he remembered that it's covered in sweat. Rael nodded,"Fevers aren't good at all, although Rainy would help with that. There's a few towels in the kitchen if you want to use one."

Rainy wandered from her post back onto the main deck, but quickly withdrew because of the storm. She instead headed for the control room, knowing that most if not all of the crew would have gathered there once the rain began to fall. She decided to stop in the kitchen first and make a few mugs of hot chocolate and coffee, hoping to lift their spirits a little. She hoped Rael didn't mind her rummaging in his kitchen.

She made it to the control deck and held out the tray with the mugs on it. "Coffee and hot chocolate, anyone? Don't let the storms get you down!"

Andre blinked as Jax and Rainy joined them. "Well, I suppose that's true." he said in response to Rael. To Rainy, he said, "A coffee would be lovely, thanks." he reached out when Rainy came close enough, taking a mug of coffee and blowing on it to cool it down.

"Okay! Save me some hot chocolate!" Jax ran into the kitchen, slipping in some water that had been tracked inside. She quickly got up and found a towel, then ran back, wrapped in it. The towel, Jax discovered, was almost the size of her, so she appeared to be a walking towel with a rosy-cheeked face and tiny hands.
She gently took a mug of hot chocolate, and blew on it gently, then took a sip.
"It's really good!" she sang, taking another small sip.

Carsyn perked up at the sound of hot chocolate and happily bound over to Rainy. Her hands danced over the air of the drinks, hesitant to just take due to old habits, but her sweet tooth won over her ingrained caution, and she delicately took a cup of hot chocolate with a smile of thanks to Rainy. A satisfied sigh left her lips as her cold fingers wrapped around the hot mug, warming her skin, and she watched the liquid slightly slosh side to side before blowing on it and taking a test sip. Too hot. Carsyn's nose scrunched at the heat.

"I'm glad you're all enjoying the warm drinks!" Rainy placed the tray down, leaving the mugs for anyone else who might wander in. "This is the last of the cocoa, but we have enough coffee for a while. Does anyone have anything they want to add to the list of needed supplies?"

"Sorry captain, but I think Andre and Carsyn would love this! Imma have to go show them!" Allison said as she left the engine room and ran to the control room.
"Hey hey! I have made something you guys would love!" Allison said, excited.

Carsyn sipped from her drink, too busy listening to the thunder and pelting rain echoing through the ship to pay much attention to the gathering crew in the room. She started to shrink back against the wall, caught sight of Allison, offered a tiny smile in hello above the lip of her drink, then hid in the shadows and sunk into her thoughts. The only thing she could hear was the thrum of the ship and the storm around them.

"Thank you very much for the coffee.", he smiled,"I hope the burner didn't act up for you." Carefully, he took a cup of coffee then gently blew on it. The drink burned his tongue but it still tasted great.

Taking out a folded piece of paper, Rael's eyes squinted while reading them. He held the paper very close to him trying to skim everything before putting it away. "Rainy, it's possible we could be running low on some herbs yet I wasn't sure if you wrote it down on yours or if we're alright.", the cook commented,"Other than that, I should be getting two ice boxes when we dock so we can freeze some things."

Andre looked up when Allison came in, but with a mouth full of coffee there wasn't much he could say, and then she was gone. He let out a breath, glancing over at Rael, Rainy, and Jax, and wondered when his control room had become a gathering space, but he didn't complain. Hell, it was nice to have the company every once in a while.

"I've created what I call a fog light! It'll help you guys see when its dark out, when there's thick clouds, and when there's fog! Pretty cool, huh?"

Jax glanced up at Allison, gripping her mug in both hands. The girl merely sneezed in response, and sipped her cocoa.
"I think I've caught a cold," Jax sighed.

"Herbs, gotcha," Rainy had already checked the herb inventory, but it never hurt to double or triple check. She heard Jax's sneeze and pursed her lips. "Darling, let's treat that quickly before it worsens. Come with me to my office."

"Oh…" Allison sighed, thinking that the sneeze was meant to signify that her invention wasnt useful at all.

Rainy noticed a tinge of insecurity drifting from Allison's direction. She cast a full smile onto the other girl. She'd almost forgotten that even confident people need positive reinforcement. "By the way, Allison, that invention of yours is so smart! Gosh, I wish I had half your brains."

"Yes, ma'am!" Jax, still holding her hot chocolate, followed Rainy to her office. She sneezed again, followed by a small shudder. "I'll be okay, soon, though."

"Really? When we hit the port I can install it if you want me to, i just have to double check with the captain," Allison said.

"Of course I mean it. I'm sure the captain will be impressed." She patted Allison on the top of her head and then headed off, followed by Jax, down to her office. She arrayed a few medications on the desk and then looked at Jax. "Okay, pop quiz! What should you use to treat your cold?"

Allison ran back to where the captain was.

"Well, the captain doesnt really need me, so I will go to see where everyone else was." Allison went to the control room.
"The captain's busy right now, so whats up, guys?" Allison announced.
