He stopped while being halfway done with buttoning up his coat. What? The cook's hand dropped to his side before pinching the bridge of his nose. Several words flew from his mind then fell onto his tongue, but they were all mixed up. Rael turned to look over at Allison for a second before picking up his wallet and putting it in a coat pocket. "Well right now, it doesn't seem like the most appropriate thing to do.", he sighed,"I'd have a much more vibrant reaction to not doing my duty despite these circumstances. I'm sorry." Rael started looking around the kitchen for his little sling bag which was over by the window. He carefully placed the letter and small wrapped box then slung it over himself.

""Oh okay. By the way, if you have a chance, visit my room, okay? Bye, cutie." Allison walked off to her post.

He kept his body turned in her direction, listening closely to her words. Keeping his eyes down at the floor, the cook placed his hand over the bag's strap. When Allison left, Rael figured he'd just go around the kitchen area making sure everything was in place and ready. There wasn't much else for him to do, it wasn't the first time he did this. Before leaving, he took a small string then tied his wrapped box to the letter.

As Rael stepped out of the kitchen, he turned back to get another look then went to take another step. He decided to walk over to Andre and the controls. The cook had no clue where else to go. Of course he could go to his hammock and read, but it was too much. Waiting in the kitchen does get boring besides, someone might need his assistance; who knows?

"How's she doing my friend?", Rael asked as he entered. He only took a couple steps in, not wanting to get close or invade Andre's space. Piloting the ship was very critical using a lot of focus of course.

Andre looked up. "Hm? Oh, she's doing just fine. The uhm, tiredness of her skipper is another matter, but the ship itself is just fine." He shot Rael a rather tired smile, rubbing a hand over his face. "You can come in if you like, just try not to touch any of the controls. I don't want us to do a nosedive as I don't know how the engines would take it." He shrugged, his brown hair still back in a bun.

Rael shook his head,"Don't fret, I can defiantly tell you that's one of the last things I'll do." He caught a quick glimpse of the controls as he ambled in; he forgot how complicated it looks. It's one way to read, but most certainly another to read controls like these. The sound of the ship's gears and the rain nearby stole his attention for a moment as he kept silent. Keeping his hands together in front of him, he stood beside Andre. Seeing his fatigued look, he patted his friend on the shoulder. "And is the skipper of this ship fine?"

Andre looked up at him, giving him a tired smile. "I just need some sleep. Once we reach port, that's the first thing I'm going to be doing. That and a shower." he laughed a little bit, the circles under his eyes all too obvious. "I just wasn't able to sleep with the storm. Too much to do keeping the ship in the sky." he reached over to flip a few of the controls, checking the maps for a moment.

He stared at Andre while listening to him. Giving a short chuckle, he bowed his head. Rael emitted a reassuring grin in return. Poor dear, he couldn't help but notice how the circles under contrasted with the color in Andre's eyes. "Maybe some fruits or a hard boiled egg could some benefit for you as well. It's not easy to maintain a healthy and restful in a setting like this, but we can all overcome that obstacle somehow.", he shrugged,"Don't worry, you'll be able to catch rest soon enough." Crossing one arm over while having the other hand rest below his chin, Rael watched the other do his work. His eyes went back and forth while observing. "Even in this unpleasant storm, she's still going. It's impressive that you can still manage under a sleepy condition, not many can do that like you, Mister Andre, right?"

Carsyn couldn't handle the storm any longer. Her very soul was trembling with the need to hide. Through the rain that soaked her shirt and pants, she couldn't spot any immediate danger anywhere near them. I should let Andre know that we're in the clear for right now. A poor excuse at an escape, but it was better than nothing, and she really was helping him out a bit by letting him know that their route was as clear as it could be. The girl scampered down the mast and landed on the deck with a wet thud, water splashing away from her feet, then hurried down to where she knew Andre would be. Mild surprise had her pausing when she spotted the cook there as well. Carsyn didn't know what to do and didn't want to interrupt their conversation, so she simply leaned against a wall and wrung out the water from her hair and clothing.

Andre let out a tired hum. "It's not the longest I've gone without sleep. Plus, terror for your life and everyone else's is a great way to stay awake." He chuckled quietly, shaking his head a little bit. "And by this point, I know the ship well enough that I don't need to be…you know, at my absolute best. I just have to stay alert enough to avoid a wreck." He explained to the cook. "It's like…at some point, the autopilot in my brain takes over for a while, I guess."

There wasn't much for Allison to do, yet, so she was finishing up on something she was making. It was was her own special project. It fits inside her pockets
