She nodded heading for the shower

As silently as he could, Lysander quickly checked on the children before heading to the stairs. Admittedly, he knew that they would pose a bit of a challenge but he was determined not to be held back by his injuries any more.

There was a loud thump from upstairs

Lysander was probably about halfway down the stairs when the sound reached him. He quickly turned around and raced back as fast as he could.

Betty had fallen her shirt rising showing the black bruises on her stomach and top of her legs

Once he finally reached the bedroom, he looked around for a minute before heading to the adjoining bathroom. ”Betty? Are you alright? What happened?”

" i fell" she said looking up at him

He walked over and sat down beside her. ”Is that were the bruises came from?” he asked, worried.

She shook her head

”What happened, angel? Do you need your medicine?” he asked, trying to keep his heart from racing in worry.

Kameron got me pretty good" she said

”Kameron? When did she do this?” he wondered in confusion. The fight had been… weeks? Maybe a month ago… If not longer, considering how slowly he had to heal.

" Lysander she was here " she said

He heart stopped in fear at his wife's words. ”How… When? I haven't left your side since the fight and Evan and Henry have been here too. I’m not that heavy of a sleeper.” he shook his head, eyes wide and a little panicky. How could this have happened?

She looked away closing her eyes

He closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath to calm down before looking back at Betty. ”I’m so sorry, my angel. I’m sorry I couldn't protect you.”

She shook her head " its not your job to protect me" she said

”I know you can handle yourself in a fight and I haven't forgotten that you're the Alpha of all werewolves but it's not your job to take on…” he sighed and shook his head. ”You don't have to deal with these problems on your own. That's what marriage is; facing problems together. I’ll never abandon you. I’m here for you. Always.” he promised, gently taking her hand.

She looked down at thier hands

“Please, my love, tell me what happened?” he begged.

She came over she was outside I could smell her so I went outside and she attacked me she scratched me anything she could told me I took you from her that you would always be hers" Betty said

He nodded slowly as he listened to his wife. He was beyond furious with Kameron… and there was nothing he could do to her. Not as a human. ”She’s delusional.” he concluded as he gently held her close. ”She never had a claim of any kind on me. I'm so sorry that she did this to you. You don't deserve to be treated like that.”

she shrugged "Its fine " she said

He shook his head and held her protectively. ”No. It's not fine.”

She layer her head on his shoulder

He sighed and rested his head on top of hers. ”I love you.” he whispered.

" I love you too " she said

He closed his eyes and gave a very soft, almost smile. He loved hearing her say that… But he still felt terrible about what happened to her.

She kissed him gently

He turned to her and softly kissed her back.
