Halm held Nix's hand gently, friending a little as he looked for the medication.
"Zachary told me Cas had a really bad headache…" Halm was just worried it was something more. Zachary held Cas close as Balm came into the room with Nix, holding the medicine and a glass of water to take it.
"Mm… is he gonna be okay?" Nix asked, sticking close to Halm as they walked into the bedroom. Cas was holding back pained tears by now and was noticeably trembling.
"I'm sure he will be," Halm said gently to Nix. He offered the medicine pills and water to Cas. Zachary held Cas close, running his back.
"Here's the medicine to help," Zachary said gently to Cas.
Cas whined softly and forced himself up into a sitting position. He eyed the pills warily for a few seconds before attempting to swallow one. He choked and coughed, gagging a bit as he spit it back up into his hand. He clearly wasn't accustomed to taking pills.
"Here," Zachary instructed gently. "Set the pill on the back of your tongue, then use the water to swallow it." He held the glass for Cas, ready to help. Halm watched with concern, but he let Zachary handle this for now. He knew Cas's would react to Zachary better.
Cas reluctantly obeyed, a couple tears rolling down onto his cheeks. He stuck the pill in his mouth and winced at the taste. Once the pill was in, he took a mouthful of water and swallowed. He gagged and coughed again, but managed to keep the pill down.
Zachary patted Cas's back when he coughed.
"It's going to take a bit for it to kick in," he said softly. He sat up fully, holding Cas close.
Cas nodded and drank some more water to keep the pill down and to get the bad taste out of his mouth. After he finished his water, he huddled up against Zachary again while Nix watched worriedly.
Zachary rubbed Cas's back, arms wrapped securely around him. Halm watched with worry as well, hand still holding Nix's. He wanted to hello Cas feel better, but… Was Cas's still mad at him? Maybe.
Cas seemed to settle down after a few minutes, although he was still shifting uncomfortably from the pain. "Mmmmm…"
Zachary lifted one hand to Cas's head, watching him quietly.
"I'm sorry you feel this bad," Halm said gently, the first interaction with Cas he had had this entire time.
"W-Why does it hurt…?" Cas asked weakly, glancing over at Halm from where he was laying.
"I don't know," Halm admitted. "I don't know…" He watched Cas carefully, trying to figure everything out.
"I-I want it to stop…" He whispered shakily. "P… P-Please make it go away…" He clung more tightly to Zachary.
Zachary held Cas close, arms wrapped so tightly around him. Halm was trying to figure out what was going on. Was it a side effect of him returning to his body? Was it from the emotional episode form earlier? He was trying to hard to figure this out.
Cas whimpered a bit and tucked his head under Zachary's chin. He was definitely nauseous by now, but he didn't feel like he was going to throw up yet.
Zachary held Cas close, rubbing his back and humming to him softly.
"We'll find a way to help you," Halm said gently.
"Mmkay…" Nix stayed where he was, scared that Cas would push him away again if he came close.
Halm watched Cas, hands shaking a little. He backed away, leaving the room to try to find out what was going on. He didn't want to leave Cas, but… He needed to find answers. Zachary glanced at Nix, still scared of him. Still, he was grateful he had gotten Halm to not murder him, even if just because of Cas.
Nix narrowed his eyes at Zachary and hesitated a few seconds before leaving the room as well, letting Cas and Zachary be alone.
Zachary looked away when Nix looked back at him. He held Cas so close.
Halm was in the living room, looking through boss to try to find anything that might explain what was going on.
"What are you doing, Halm?" Nix asked, coming up beside him and curiously looking over his shoulder.
"I'm trying to figure out if there's any underlying problems with Cas," he said, glancing up from his books. "I'm terrified he… That he might die again."
"I wouldn't read so much into it… he gets migraines after fits like that all the time. I'm sure he's fine, Halm. Physically, anyway."
"Still, I…" Halm sighed a little. He was still scared. "I just want to make sure there's nothing wrong."
"Alright. If you insist. I just don't think you're going to find much…" Nix sighed as well and sat down beside Halm.
Halm nodded a little.
"I just…" He sighed a little. "I just want to do anything to make sure nothing happens to him anymore."
Nix nodded a bit. "Honestly, though… since this is a normal thing for him, I wouldn't worry about it too much."
Halm set the book in his hands down, leaning back on the couch and pulling his legs up.
"Alright then…"
Nix crawled into Halm's lap and sighed, huddling close to him. "It's not your fault, Halm…"
