Still pouting, she started to cave in. "There's nothing I can say or do?" Melissa asked lightly, kissing him in return.
Still pouting, she started to cave in. "There's nothing I can say or do?" Melissa asked lightly, kissing him in return.
"Nope! Nothing you can say or do could change my mind, Mel." Lucas grinned brightly.
"Fine, I won't argue any further." Melissa hummed, kissing him once more. "I'll keep my disagreement to myself."
"Mm… someday I'm gonna get you to agree with me, just you wait." Lucas returned the kiss, seeming pleased with himself.
"In what dimension?" Melissa joked, resting her head back on his shoulder. "Because I don't think it'll be this one."
"You'll see. I'm gonna try my best, Mel." Lucas nuzzled against Melissa again and kept walking.
"I wish you luck. Though I still doubt you, on this one particular case." Melissa hummed softly, glancing down at Cody with a smile.
Cody seemed to enjoy running free, although Lucas held the leash close enough that he couldn't get hurt anywhere. "I think he's enjoying himself."
Melissa nodded her agreement, glancing up to see the park they were passing by. "Mm… do we want to go for a quick walk, around the park?"
"Sure! I think he'd enjoy that." Lucas grinned and headed over to the park. Cody started sniffing everything curiously when they went in.
Melissa smiled softly, kissing his cheek lightly. "We can't stay for long, I didn't say anything about the park to my dad."
"You could text him and say we're gonna be a couple extra minutes." Lucas shrugged, walking along the path with Cody.
"Mmm, that's true." Melissa hummed, starting to pull her phone out. "About how long do you think we're gonna stay?"
"Not sure… probably thirty minutes tops?" Lucas shrugged, continuing to walk. Cody hopped around excitedly.
"Right, I'll tell him that." Melissa hummed a little, quickly typing away on her screen. "Where do we wanna go?"
"Um… I'll stick to the main paths, probably. The path to the clearing is a tad precarious for puppies."
"At least for today. We need to bring him with us, one of these days." Melissa hummed a little, nuzzling in to his shoulder.
"Mhmm. I'd probably carry him to be safe, though." Lucas kissed Melissa's cheek softly, watching Cody enjoy himself.
"Mm, yeah. That makes sense." Melissa smiled lightly, lifting her head up a little. "Do we want to play with some of his toys?"
"Sure!" Lucas smiled as well. "How do we make sure he doesn't run off?" He asked.
"That… is a good question." Melissa laughed lightly, glancing around. "I'm not sure there is any way, actually."
"Hmm… maybe we'll try that in the backyard later, then. For now, we can just walk." Lucas smiled softly.
"Yeah, that's the smartest option." Melissa chirped a little, looking back out at Cody. "He's plenty happy as is, anyways."
"Mhmm." Cody flopped down on the ground and started rolling around in the grass. "Codyyy~ you're going to get all dirty."
Melissa laughed lightly, letting go of Lucas's hand. "It's too late for that." She hummed, sitting down on the ground next to him.
Lucas sighed, shaking his head with a small smile. He sat down beside Melissa and rubbed Cody's belly while he rolled around.
Melissa smiled lightly, resting her head on his shoulder. "I think he'll be alright. It doesn't look too bad over here." She pointed out.
"Yeah, probably… it hasn't been too rainy recently." Lucas gently kissed Melissa's cheek. "As long as we don't let him out by the creek, he should be okay."
"Mhmm… but we weren't planning on going back there." Melissa shrugged a little, lifting her head to kiss him in return. "So we shouldn't have to worry."
Lucas nodded, watching Cody roll around with a fond smile. "We can always give him a bath if he needs one."
