"Hey- that wasn't part of the deal." Phoenix pouted, glancing over to her. He kept a hold on her hand, coming to a slight stop. "You only said dinner. Why can't I pay for a treat?" He insisted in a soft tone.
"Hey- that wasn't part of the deal." Phoenix pouted, glancing over to her. He kept a hold on her hand, coming to a slight stop. "You only said dinner. Why can't I pay for a treat?" He insisted in a soft tone.
"Because it's the principle of the matter?" Cicada tried to argue but it was hard with his pout. Even harder after he insisted with such a soft tone that eventually she caved in with a sigh, "Mmmm fine! You can pay for it if you want to."
Slowly Phoenix's pout turned into a smile, and he started walking once more. "Yay~ I knew you couldn't resist my pleading." He hummed a little, feeling a bit more sure of himself. "You like me too much to be mean."
Cicada let out another sigh as she smiled over at him. He was right, she liked him too much to be mean to him. She also didn't want to end being like… Well like her ex. She kept up her smile as she started to walk with him, "Ah yes, but don't think it'll work every time got it?"
"Mmm, almost every time, then." Phoenix hummed softly, giving her a bright grin. In all honesty, he was kind of adorable. Running his fingers through his curls, he glanced down at her with his grin. "I don't think that's the first time I've gotten away with something, because you like me."
"Nooooooooo," Cicada rolled her eyes trying not to look at him. Fuck him and being cute and adorable with the curly hair and the bright grin and all that shit. She still kept a soft smile on, "Definitely the first time I promise you."
"Mhmm, sure. Whatever you say Cicada." Phoenix hummed a little, leaning over to gently nose her cheek. He knew he should give her space, but he was feeling clingy. As long as it didn't bug her too bad he felt this kind of affection was alright.
Cicada laughed a little and let him do his affection thing. If it started to bother her, she would tell him. Right? Probably not if she was being honest. She would probably just let him continue since he wasn't doing any harm, "Uh huh. Soo how do we want to get the pizza?"
"Mm, what do you mean?" Phoenix asked softly, kissing her cheek softly before pulling away. He was still smiling softly as he looked down at her. "As in, ordering ahead of time, or going there and sitting down? Because I don't care either way."
"I mean, I figured we would go in there and sit down. But I was wondering what type of pizza. Sorry for wording it weirdly," Cicada apologized as she hummed a little. She looked up at him with a soft smile.
"Ooooh, that makes more sense. I'm happy with anything, except mushrooms. That's about the only thing I won't eat on pizza." Phoenix hummed lightly, turning around the corner on to the street of the pizza parlor. "So whatever you want."
"Ahhh I wanted mushrooms," Cicada teased a little spotting the slightly familiar surroundings she was now in. She let out a little laugh, "I'm just joking with you. How about sausage or pepperoni?"
Phoenix stuck his tongue out at her, chuckling lightly. "Pepperoni sounds good to me. But if you have one you want more, then get that." He insisted with a soft smile. Coming up to the pizza place, he grabbed the door and pushed it open for her.
"Pepperoni and sausage?" Cicada suggested walking through the door and waiting for him. She had a light smile on not quite as soft as earlier. This one held more mischief and affection, "Is that fine with you?"
"I mean, yeah. I don't see any reason why not." Phoenix shrugged a little, walking in after her. Gently he slid an arm over her shoulders, leading her over to the front counter. "Do we want water to drink with it?"
"Water? Why get water when we can have pop? Soda? Whatever," Cicada commented maybe leaning up against him as they walked. She wouldn't admit that though, it was nice okay? She had a little grin on, "Or do you want to be healthy and eat pizza."
"I'm just not a soda fan. But I mean, I'll take a lemonade." Phoenix hummed a little, giving her a light smile. As they waited in line, he leaned over to rest his head on top of hers. "But I don't really care. I'll drink whatever."
Cicada let out a slight laugh as her cheeks started to blush. She glanced up at him with a happy smile, "Okay. Well I'm getting soda because caffeine is always a wonderful idea isn't it?"
"Mmm, that's true. I approve of whoever discovered caffeine." Phoenix smiled lightly, pulling away so she could order when the line cleared. "You want me to grab a table for us?"
"That would be great thanks!" Cicada replied happily as she went to order. She ordered a medium sausage and pepperoni pizza a lemonade for Phoenix and a regular soda for herself. All while ignoring the look she was getting from the people nearby once Phoenix had gone.
Walking off with a little smile, Phoenix found an empty table. He hummed a little to himself, sitting on the edge of his seat as he waited for Cicada to come. Quietly he began to bounce his leg as he waited, not sure why he was feeling anxious all of a sudden.
Cicada paid and turned around to look for Phe. She made her way over to him smiling and sat down across from him spotting the bouncing leg. He was nervous probably, she didn't know why, but she wasn't going to comment on it, "Hey."
Lifting his head, Phoenix felt a smile pull up. "Hey! Any troubles paying?" He asked lightly, just as chipper as ever. He was still bouncing his leg though, and started to drum his fingers on the table.
"Nope," Cicada reached out to lightly hold his hand. She, she was worried about him just a little bit. Not much just a teensy little bit, "Are you doing okay?"
"That's good…" Phoenix hummed lightly, his drumming fingers stopping when she touched her hand. He focused his gaze on her, lacing their fingers together. "And about me being okay, I don't actually know right now. I'm feeling super anxious all of a sudden… there's more people in here than I thought there would be…"
"Yeah…" Cicada agreed looking around for a moment before focusing back on Phoenix. She gave him a half smile as she squeezed his hand happily, "But just pretend it's the two of us okay? That should take care of your anxiety right?"
"I… maybe? I just… I dunno. It's stupid." Phoenix mumbled, sighing weakly. Focusing on her, he kept a decent hold on her hand. He made himself bury down the feeling, forcing up a smile for her. "I'll be fine."
(Quick question, if I had the random inspiration to draw the two of them together, would I be allowed to? I don't want to draw your character without permission ahah)
(It's fine with me! Lol. I just ask that I get to see the finished product? :)
"Okay, but if you start feeling not fine tell me?" Cicada asked him as she kept smiling at him. She carefully messed with his fingers, "And whatever it was it probably wasn't stupid. Just unknown?"
