Alex looked up when the door opened.
Alex looked up when the door opened.
"I've got good news," Gabe said, making his way in with a smile to Alex.
Alex smiled faintly in return. "What?" He asked.
"I've got some ways to deal with the… Situation at the apartment. Salt, and holy water, and some prayers to say." Gabe sat down next to Alex, on the opposite side of Matthew.
Alex nodded a little bit, a little worried that these solutions would hurt him. After all, he had been told all his life that he was of the devil. Because of his abilities, the way he loved.
Gabe watched Alex a moment.
"Everything is gonna be okay now," he said softly.
Alex nodded again. "Alright."
Gabe smiled at Alex again.
"Will you want to hear back today, or stay here for a bit longer?"
Alex shrugged a little bit. "I-I don't…I don't have a preference."
"Okay then," Gabe said. He stayed setting. "You alright with starting for dinner, then heading home?"
Alex nodded slightly. "Sure."
"Alright then." Gabe unconsciously put his hand near Alex's. Matthew actually crawled over Alex to get to Gabe's lap, causing Gabe to look over at Alex to make sure he was alright.
Alex took a deep breath when Matthew crawled over him, biting his lip.
"You okay?" Gabe asked gently, looking at him with concern.
Alex nodded a little. "I'm fine."
"Alright…" Gabe left his hand on Alex's.
Alex looked up at him for a moment, then away again, chewing on his lip.
Gabe kept looking at Alex, gentle.
Alex let out a faint breath. "So, we're staying for dinner?" he asked quietly.
Gabe nodded.
"And then we'll head home, yes."
Alex nodded a little. "Alright."
Gabe sat back, and Matthew laid his head on Gabe's chest. Gabe looked over at Alex, giving him a small smile. He looked as if Matthew might have even been his own child, but that wasn't the case.
Alex returned the smile faintly, glancing at Michael for a moment and wondering…if the boy might be right.
Gabe still had his hand on Alex's, seeming to have no intention of moving it any time soon. He watched Alex a moment, the look returning to his eyes. The longing. And then it was gone.
Alex had returned his gaze to Gabe, and wasn't sure what to make of that look…if it meant anything. Surely it didn't.
Gabe smiled at Alex looked over at him, the smile almost holding the same time as his prior gaze.
"Told you," Matthew mumbled quietly to Alex. "Eyes."
Alex blinked, looking at Matthew and shaking his head a little bit.
Matthew nodded, yawning a bit. Gabe raised an eye brow.
"Can I ask?" He directed the question to Alex.
Alex shrugged. "If you want to. Ask him, not me."
Gabe looked down at Matthew, but he was pretending to be asleep. He chuckled a little.
"I guess I'm not going to get an answer then."
