”Ok. No pressure.” Henry assured her. ”Umm… Can I guess if it has something to do with Ly and what we're going to try?” he couldn't help but ask. He knew he was certainly nervous about it.
”Ok. No pressure.” Henry assured her. ”Umm… Can I guess if it has something to do with Ly and what we're going to try?” he couldn't help but ask. He knew he was certainly nervous about it.
She looked up at him " do you have the things" she asked
From her response, he could tell he wasn't going to get a straight answer on the topic so he nodded. ”Yeah, right here.” he said as he picked up the equipment. ”Sorry it took me a little longer to get the bags. The hospital bumped up security more than usual today.” he explained.
" I have to be alone when I do this with him" she said
Henry bit his lip slightly at that. ”Are you sure? I can help. I did go to medical school a couple of times.” he offered.
" I have to do this alone' she said
”Alright.” Henry sighed. ”Well, can I at least sit outside the door?”
She shook head
Henry sighed again and gave a reluctant nod. ”Ok.” he relented. ”Then… best of luck.” he said sincerely.
She said taking the things and going upstairs
Evan was still standing near the top of the stairs. ”Umm… Betty?” he finally spoke.
She looked up at him
”I… I just wanted to say I’m sorry. You know, for earlier.” Evan blundered through his apology, even though he was sincere. ”I’m just worried about… everything that's happening and when I get this worried, I shut down emotionally and tend to ignore how others feel.” he admitted ashamed of himself.
She shook her head " it's fine" she said as said with a tearful smile although by looking at her you could tell it wasn't fine
”No. I know it's not.” Evan shook his head. ”And I'm very sorry about it. I… I don't know exactly how to say how deeply sorry I am.”
" I need to go" she said closing her eyes
Evan nodded and stood off to the side. ”Alright. I really am sorry.” he said one more time. ”I’ll… I’ll be downstairs to tell mom and dad what’s going on.”
She nodded before entering thier room with lysander
Evan looked dejectedly at his feet as he headed down the stairs.
Lysander had the notebook out again, rereading something and wincing slightly as he rotated his shoulder. There were a few frost spots on the book from his fingers and his eyes were a bit red.
She walked over to him after setting the stuff down
He looked up at her as he finally noticed that she was back. ”Is… Is it time?” he asked, his voice cracking from nerves, a little pain, and knowing how much he upset her.
She nodded she took her ring and put it off in her jewelry box of jewelry she never wore it had her mother's ring in it and she started to take off his ring
Lysander watched her as he slowly started losing the battle of holding back his tears. ”Betty?” he asked, a little scared. ”Please… Give me a chance. When I turn back… Let me find out how I feel before you put your wedding ring away.” he begged.
She sighed softly " I am giving you a chance" she said tugging his ring off and took his dog tag putting it in the drawer
He shook his head slightly. ”I know what you do with the jewelry you put in that box.” he told her.
"Lysander" she said sitting on the edge of the bed and taking his hand "I love you so much and that's why I have to let you go" she said tears welling up in her eyes
“I love you too, Betty, and I know what you mean… how you feel.” he said, grasping her hand like a lifeline but still holding it gently. ”I just don't want to give up on us. I want to believe that nothing will change.”
She wiped her tears with the back of her other hand " I'll always love you Lysander Castevau"
Lysander pulled her close and kissed her cheek. ”And I will love you until all the stars burn out and the moon shatters.” he promised her while he knew it would still be true before gently kissing her lips.
She kissed him back fresh tears falling on his cheeks
