Cas stayed away from it, but he couldn't keep his eyes off of it.

Halm was just finishing up, putting the watering can down.

(I mean, any time is fine with me lol. I just imagine Cas getting out unsupervised and finding the river and oops-)
"Do you have any more work to do after this?" Cas asked curiously.

"Just making sure the garden is healthy," Halm said.
"It's pretty much a twenty four hour job."

(Tru tru. He'll probably just trip over it or something lol)
Cas nodded a bit. "But you sleep, though…" He said quietly.

(that's a very Cas thing to do XD)

"Not every night…" Halm stood up, picking the can you again.

(Yep yep)
"You gotta sleep, Halm. It's good for you, and it feels really nice when you don't have nightmares."

"I have been," Halm said with a smile. "With you. It doesn't happen often anyways." He started meeting good way back to the house.

"Mm… I sleep a lot." Cas relaxed a bit and huddled up to Halm with a soft sigh.

"I can tell," Halm said with a chuckle. He carried Cas inside, setting the watering can down by the hall.

Cas looked up when Nix meowed at them and smiled softly. "I'm fine, Nix. See?"

Halm set Cas down too, in the living room with Nix.
"I'm gonna go get started on dinner," he said. He left the room, going across the hall to the kitchen.

"Mmkay." Cas curled up into a ball and held Nix close to himself with a soft sigh.

Halm started preparing the meat for dinner, humming as he cooked. He stepped to the door.
"Is there anything you would want to have?"

"Nah, anything is fine…" Cas yawned a bit and hugged Nix.

"Okay then." Halm ducked back into the kitchen, finishing up the preparations. He put the food into the oven, coming back out to sit on the couch with Cas.

"Hi…" Cas huddled up against Halm, smiling contentedly.

"Hey," Halm said. He put his arm around Cas, smiling a little.
"How are you doing?"

"I'm okay." Cas huddled up to Halm, smiling softly. Nix meowed softly.

Halm smiled.
"That's good to hear," he said. He held Cas close against him gently, relaxing as the house filled with the smell of cooking food. He lightly patted Nix's head.

"How long does the food take to cook?" He asked, looking up at Halm curiously.

"Well," Halm said, looking at the clock, "it should be done in a couple minutes. I'll go check on it, and call you in when it's done, okay?" Halm pulled away from Cas, standing up and heading back to the kitchen.

"Mmkay." Cas lay down when Halm left and yawned a bit, humming softly to himself while he waited.

When the food was done, Halm took it out of the oven.
"Cas, the food is ready," he called, just like he had said.

"Mmmm…" Cas got up and headed into the kitchen. He put Nix on the table and then climbed up into his chair.

Halm came over with the food, setting it down for Cas. He had even made a special plate of food for Nix. Cas and Halm were having steak.

"Thanks, Halm." Cas and Nix started eating their respective dinners, both seeming pleased with them.

"You're welcome." Halm started eating as well. He'd done a good job, from the way Cas and Nix were eating. He smiled softly. He was glad both of them were enjoying it. He finished quickly as usual.

As per usual, Cas took a few more minutes to finish than Halm did. "Do you have any more work to do?" He asked while Nix licked his plate.
