Asa smiled even more brightly when she saw how happy she had made Ashera. She continued to eat, a warm feeling settling in her.
Asa smiled even more brightly when she saw how happy she had made Ashera. She continued to eat, a warm feeling settling in her.
Ashera took a bite of her breakfast and hummed softly. ”That is good.”
Asa nodded, quickly swallowing her food.
"See? I knew it would be!"
”Well, it's a little hard to mess up this recipe.” Ashera giggled a little before kissing Asa’s cheek.
Asa still smiled brightly.
"Well, that doesn't make it any less impressive." She actually leaned into the kids a little, happy.
Ashera smiled as she leaned back into her seat, cutting another bite. ”You’re very kind to say those things.”
"Hm," Asa said, "I see it more as just telling the truth." She smiled, getting herself another, sightly too big, bite of food. She looked adorable.
”Doesn’t make it any less kind.” Ashera pointed out, trying not to laugh too much at Asa’s puffed-up cheeks. ”You look like a chipmunk.” she couldn't help blurting out.
Asa blushed at the comment, swallowing her food and giggling a little.
"I suppose so," she said with a smile.
”I’m sorry if I embarrassed you.” she apologized. ”I just couldn't help it. You looked so cute!”
Asa giggled a little.
"A little embarrassment never hurt," she said. "It's okay if you know there was no ill intent!" She giggled again.
”No, it really didn't.” she giggled. ”But I would never say anything with the intention of hurting you.” Ashera promised truthfully.
Asa nodded, grinning.
"I'm glad to hear that," she said, leaning over to give Ashera a hug.
Ashera blinked in surprise, not having expected this, but quickly returned the hug.
Asa lingered in the hug a moment, then pulled away to continue eating.
"You know," she said thoughtfully, "you're a very affectionate person." Asa smiled. "I like that."
Ashera giggled at the compliment. ”Thank you. Not many actually say that, though you’re pretty affectionate too.” she smiled, sitting back to eat her own breakfast.
Asa grinned, eating.
"Thanks!" She said, happier now.
”You’re very welcome.” Ashera smiled, watching her eat for a moment before popping a grape in her mouth.
Asa eventually finished her food, happily stuffed.
"It was really good," she confirmed again.
Ashera sighed happily, leaning back in her seat as she had finished her meal as well. “Yes, it was and I’m so glad you liked it.”
Asa grinned brightly.
"Thank you for the food!" She said. Manners were important.
”You’re very welcome. I enjoy cooking.” Ashera smiled back before lightly kissing her cheek.
Asa leaned into the kiss, smiling brightly.
"I'm very glad for that, because I enjoy eating." Asa giggled a little.
”Good.” Ashera laughed lightly. ”Then as long as you stay with me, I’ll make sure you don't go hungry. For now, though, I should start cleaning up. I may have some customers come in today.” she said as she began gathering the used dishes.
Asa moved to help, a little nervous now.
"I'll have to make sure to change back before anyone shows up," she noted.
”I know.” Ashera nodded. ”That’s part of why I warned you. I don't want you to be taken away or have to run again.” she said a little more seriously.
Asa nodded. She helped Asher a clean up, giving her a hug.
"Thank you," she said again. "For keeping my secret."
Ashera hugged her friend closely. ”I may not be able to lie but I can omit facts easily enough… and I won't tell anyone about you.” she promised.
"Thank you, " Asa said again. She buried her head in Ashera's shoulder.
”You’re welcome.” Ashera said softly and began stroking Asa’s hair.
