Halm grinned at Cas's reaction.
"I'm glad you like it," he said happily. Halm himself seemed in sharp contrast with the room, with deep reds and blacks and ghostly pale skin. Still, this place near him feel good.

Halm grinned at Cas's reaction.
"I'm glad you like it," he said happily. Halm himself seemed in sharp contrast with the room, with deep reds and blacks and ghostly pale skin. Still, this place near him feel good.
Cas trilled happily as he ran his small hands alone the crystals. "There's just so many of them." He was definitely glowing now, both from the crystals and his newfound bright attitude.
Halm nodded.
"They've just- grow here, really. Over the years. It's… Amazing." Halm smiled, sitting down cross legged and watching Cas. The human just looked so happy here.
Cas made his way all the way around the outskirts of the room, making sure he touched all the crystals he could reach. After he'd done that, he flopped beside the shining lake and ran his fingers through the water.
Halm watched Cas happily, glad he seemed so much… Better here. No bad memories to weigh him down. Not here. Not anymore. He made his way over to sit next to Cas, grinning.
"Enjoying yourself?" He said with a grin.
"Mhmm!" Cas examined his reflection curiously, noticing the reflected crystals behind him. He smiled and ran his fingers through the reflection.
The water rippled gently, itself shining softly.
"I'm glad," Halm said. He watched Cas closely. This was the happiest he had ever seen Cas. There had been so much pain and fear, this had to be better for Cas.
Cas stuck out his tongue a bit as he played with the water. He was laying on his stomach and was idly kicking his legs in the air a bit.
(Do you happen to have a face claim for Halm? 👀)
(I, in fact, do not yet, but I have been working on a drawing)
Halm smiled softly. Cas really was acting like a child, but it was cute.
(Ooo)
"How long can we stay?" Cas asked, flicking his fingers through the glittering surface of the pond.
"As long as you want," Halm said. He'd be able to deal with the memories later. He wanted to draw this out for Cas as much as he wanted.
Cas grinned, putting both hands in the water. "Are the crystals magical?" He asked curiously, watching the water ripple when he touched it.
"They have healing abilities." Halm smiled a little.
"It comes from the water, and seeps into the crystals."
"Ooh…" Cas stuck his tongue out a bit, enjoying the cool water. "I can't swim."
(Cas and Halm: cute lil bonding moments
Torin and Marcos: somebody's getting tortured)
(you'll get your cute lil bonding moments soon enough)
"Really?" Halm said. When he thought about Cas's upbringing, though, it wasn't as unbelievable.
"Well, how deep does the water look to you?"
(>:[)
(Cas is very cuddly)
"Uhh…" Cas examined the water for a few moments. "Probably deeper than I am tall."
"Would you believe me if I said it would barely come up to your shoulders?" Halm smiled.
"Probably not." Cas pushed his hand into the water, humming softly to himself. "Besides, I'm wearing clothes and stuff."
"Good thing I'm not asking you to get in," Halm said with a chuckle. "I've been in it before. It barely comes to my waist."
"Hmm…" Cas drew his hand away and examined the pool curiously. "Is it weird that I don't know how to swim?"
"Well, it makes sense that you don't," Halm said. "But… Just a little bit? A lot of people know how." Halm didn't want to lie to Cas.
Cas nodded a bit. "I think my dad was secretly hoping I would drown someday."
"I'm glad you didn't," Halm said. "You're an amazing person."
Cas smiled softly, looking up at Halm. "I'm glad you think so…"
Halm returned the smile, shifting a little.
"You really are. I should know."
"Hmm? Why's that?" Cas asked, confused.
"We're tied, because of the Claiming. It helps me understand just what kind of person you are. There's no details, of course, but just an overall feeling." Halm shrugged a little. To him it made sense.
