"Sure!" Lucas held his ice cream cone out to Melissa, grinning brightly. This was clearly a fun new experience for him.
"Sure!" Lucas held his ice cream cone out to Melissa, grinning brightly. This was clearly a fun new experience for him.
Dipping her finger into the ice cream, she pulled it back to lick it off her finger. Her eyes widened in surprise, and seemed quite fond of the taste. "That is really good. Mm, you wanna try mine?"
"Sure! If you'll let me, of course." Lucas pulled his ice cream back to himself and licked it, humming contentedly.
"Of course!" Melissa hummed, holding her cone up to him as she sat in a booth. "Let me know what you think."
Lucas tried a bit of it and hummed contentedly. "It's nice. It's more mild than mine is." He smiled softly and sat across from Melissa.
Melissa nodded a little, still smiling. "So, how's your first going out for ice cream experience so far?" She asked with a bubbly smile. Something about his enthusiasm was putting her in a better mood.
(If you're not sure how to respond, or anything like that, that's totally cool. I'm just making sure my response went through. No rush.)
(Aa I responded to this earlier! It must not have gone through qwq)
"It's great! We should do this more often!" Lucas grinned, continuing to eat his ice cream. "We're going to the park after this, right?" He asked.
(Lol, I hate when that happens -.-)
"Mm, probably a good idea. We need to burn off all that energy you have." Melissa teased, smirking some as she continued eating. "Why are you so excited?"
Lucas blushed a bit, looking down at his ice cream. "I-I dunno… it's just a new experience for me, and I think it's exciting. Like I said, it's been years since I've had ice cream." He ate some more of his ice cream cone.
"Well it's cute. I should take you new places more often." Melissa hummed, using her free hand to hold his. "I like seeing you with that child-like wonder."
Lucas flushed harder, looking up at Melissa weakly. "Well, you've probably got a lot of options, to be honest. My dad rarely took us anywhere and my mom was sick."
Melissa lit up a bit, smiling brightly to him. "Lovely! I- I mean, not lovely, with the whole reasoning behind it. But it gives me the chance to give it to you."
"True. You could pick most random places and it's not unlikely that I haven't been there. I spent most of my time in the sunflower field when I was little."
"I still think that's adorable… what about a fair or amusement park?" Melissa asked him with a soft hum. Slowly she ran her thumb over his hand.
Lucas shook his head. "I think I went to an amusement park once, but I was too little to go on most of the rides. And I've never been to a fair."
"Then those are definitely on the list," Melissa hummed, trying to think of other places. "What about a museum? There's some really cool ones."
"I haven't been to one that I really remember, but I think we might've gone to one as a class in third grade or something."
"Well, then we might have to go to one. I went to this one a year or so ago, and it was about the history of movies and acting. It was so cool." Melissa hummed, watching a drop of ice cream run down her cone.
Lucas nodded and ate some more of his own ice cream. "Can we go to a zoo some time?" He asked.
"Of course we can. If you think of anything else, just tell me. We'll make a list." Melissa hummed, coming to the cone and biting into it.
"Okay, um…" Lucas considered for a few seconds. "An aquarium could be fun. I've heard GoKarting is fun… we could go to the movies? Those are the main things coming to mind, but there's probably plenty of other stuff."
"Oh, of course… could you hold mine for a minute?" Melissa asked softly, pulling her phone out of her pocket. "I wanna write this down."
"Yeah, sure." Lucas held onto Melissa's ice cream cone while continuing to eat his own. "And if you think of anything, feel free to bring it up."
"Thanks," Melissa hummed, quickly typing down what she remembered they had said. "Well… ooh! We could go ice skating, or rollerskating."
"I haven't done either of those before." Lucas smiled softly at her enthusiasm. "Feel free to add them to the list."
Melissa nodded, adding them on. "I've probably got a hundred more things… like laser tag, or a local baseball game. But we can talk about it later."
"Alright. You can just add things whenever you think of them and we can talk about it when it comes up. Do you want your ice cream back?"
"Mm, if you'll give it back. You might just want to keep it for yourself." Melissa joked, pocketing her phone with a light smile.
"One's enough for me." Lucas smiled softly and handed Melissa's ice cream back to her before continuing to eat his own.
