He was still using the towel so he wasn't really touching her.

Betty suddenly snapped back to reality

Lysander looked at her, a mix of relief and worry. ”Betty?” he said softly.

Evan knelt down in front of the couple. ”How do you feel?”

" W-Who are you!?" She asked

Lysander’s brow raised as his worry doubled. ”Angel… It's me. Lysander.”

" I don't-" she said scooting away from him

”Betty… My darling.” Lysander said. ”I’m your husband.” he told her gently.

She shook her head rapidly

Evan hesitantly reached towards her hand. ”Betty. Do you remember me?” he asked since they knew each other for years.

"E-Evan" she asked reaching her arms out to him

Evan smiled softly and gently hugged her. ”It’s alright, Betty. I’m here.”

She cried in his shoulder " I'm scared"

“There’s nothing to be scared of.” Evan assured her. “Lysander is my younger brother. … Tell me; what’s the lastthing you remember?”

" I was sitting in my room and you climbed up in the window and held me all night because I was scared about a person in my dream who held fire"

Lysander went still, swallowing quietly and glanced at his hands.

Evan sighed and held Betty close. “Betty… that was years ago.” he said gently, trying to remember for sure how long ago that actually was.

She shook her head ' he's here"

”What do you mean?” Evan asked, looking at her gently.

She turned her head to look at lysander

”Betty, it's alright. You’re safe.” Evan reassured her. ”Lysander won’t hurt you. You may not remember it but he loves you and has for years now. You’ve been married for… five years, I think, and have two kids with him.”

She shook her head "No I want away" she said

Lysander stood up and refused to look at them. ”No need. This is your mother's home. I’ll leave.” he said, trying to keep the hurt out of his voice. ”I’ll go see Henry and Tyler.”

Betty sniffled looking at him

”You sure, frère?” Evan asked.

”I’m sure. Besides, Henry is still watching a couple of old friends I need to talk to.” Lysander nodded, hiding the faint flash of red in his eyes at the thought of seeing Kameron and her siblings again.

Betty curled up to Evan

Kameron and her siblings continued to talk about how the poison would eventually kill her

Evan sighed and held her close.

Lysander tried not to run out of the house, though despite his best efforts a couple of tears managed to escape.

Betty let out deep breaths

”Are you alright, Betty?” Evan asked.

Lysander flew off and headed in the direction he thought he saw Evan come from.

She nodded

Evan gave her a small smile despite the conflict he felt. What should he tell her about the more recent years? He had to tell her what she was now… But he couldn't find the words.

It took Lysander a bit longer to meet up with Henry and Tyler than it did for Evan to travel between the two locations.
