@Fraust

"I actually had a lot of stuffed animals. I was very touchy feely as a kid, so having something to hold onto at night made me feel safer. Claus always made fun of me, but I didn't really care. That was one thing he couldn't sway me on."

Laughing lightly, Melissa looked up at him and pictured him curled up at night with the stuffed animals. "That's cute… I had a couple, growing up. I think I might still have them." She admitted in a soft tone, running her thumb over his. "I'm not actually sure."

@Fraust

Lucas smiled softly. "I typically favored ones that were almost as big as I was, actually. And I'd just cling to them all night… it got to a point where I couldn't sleep without them, but I got over that."

"That's probably good… I'm not sure there's stuffed animals as big as you anymore." Melissa hummed, realizing that she was suppose to be looking for the picnic basket she had lost. "But, I mean we could always look."

@Fraust

Lucas laughed a bit. "Well, I have you~" He kissed Melissa's cheek softly. "But we can't exactly cuddle through the night while we're still living in your parents house."

@Fraust

"Yeah, yeah…" Lucas smiled softly and kept walking, holding onto Melissa's hand. "We still gotta find the picnic basket, by the way."

@Fraust

Lucas blushed a bit, smiling sheepishly. "It's nice to be here again." Eventually they found the cliff and Lucas sat down on the edge.

@Fraust

"Mhmm." Lucas looked down at the ground. The cliff was high, and a fall from that height could definitely have seriously hurt him as a kid. It was about 30 feet.

Melissa glanced down as well, and started to push back a little further. "Honestly- this isn't the cliff you and your brother climbed, is it?" She asked weakly, trying not to think about the drop too much.

@Fraust

"Sure is. It's not as bad as it looks. There's a lot of footholds and it doesn't typically stay wet after rain." Lucas smiled softly. "And it's super sturdy. The rocks here wouldn't slip like the ones in the park."

@Fraust

Lucas shrugged. "He didn't usually drop me until around ten feet off the ground. It wasn't that bad."

@Fraust

"More than double, actually. I was like, seven. I was just a little more than four feet at that point." Lucas hummed thoughtfully.

@Fraust

"Well, he didn't. I was alright." Lucas smiled softly to reassure Melissa. "I'm not trying to say it was a good idea or anything."

@Fraust

Lucas laughed a bit, looking over the edge of the cliff again. "Yeah. I don't think we should've been allowed to roam free considering how reckless Claus was, but there did used to be a fence here."

@Fraust

"Claus thought it would be funny to push it over the edge. It wasn't hard for him to do. Claus was dangerous when he got bored." Lucas laughed.

@Fraust

Lucas shrugged. "He took after our dad. I took after our mom. I was always the… um… the gentle one, I suppose. Quieter. Claus was impulsive."

@Fraust

"Yeah. I always used to wish I was more like Claus, but I don't think I'd still be here if I was…" Lucas sighed softly, watching clouds float by.

@Fraust

"Claus was… what's the word…? Hasty. We were always both emotional, but I usually expressed that through crying and he was impulsive and destructive sometimes. We had different coping mechanisms, neither of which were healthy, but… he acted too quickly. He always did."

Melissa had a thought creep up- but she wasn't sure if she should ask it. Would it be pushing things too far? After a few moments of silence, she decided she would rather take the consequences than sit there with her questions eating at her. "Do… do you think he'd still be here, if he hadn't been so quick to act?"
