Halm rubbed Cas's back a bit more, happy to be able to help.
"I'll be there if you want me to, when you talk to him." The father wouldn't be able to do anything if Halm was there.
Halm rubbed Cas's back a bit more, happy to be able to help.
"I'll be there if you want me to, when you talk to him." The father wouldn't be able to do anything if Halm was there.
Cas nodded a bit. "I… um… when are we…?" He asked awkwardly.
"Talking to him?" Halm asked, just to be sure. He had a hard time keeping up on conversations sometimes. He didn't have them often.
"Y-Yeah… when are we gonna go?" Cas repeated, fidgeting a bit.
"Whenever you're ready to. You don't have to rush if you don't want to." Halm wasn't sure now would be a good time, but it was Cas's decision.
Cas nodded a bit. "Um… maybe after dinner… I think I'll have calmed down by then…"
"Okay then." Halm was still holding Cas in his lap, waiting for Cas to want to get down.
Cas showed no signs of wanting to do so. He felt safe and warmer in Halm's arms, so he didn't plan on leaving.
Halm sighed softly, wrapping his arms around Cas a bit more securely. This was nice.
"What time is it?" Cas asked softly after a couple of minutes.
"5:03," Halm said, looking up at the clock. He had been watching Cas. Cas was just so cute curled up like this.
"Mmkay…" Cas yawned and shifted a bit to be more comfortable in Halm's lap. He seemed more relaxed now and was content for the time being.
Halm was happy Cas seemed to be doing so good. Soon, though, he would need to go make dinner.
Cas relaxed in Halm's arms, struggling to stay awake. He was always tired, so he tended to sleep more than the average person.
Halm watched Cas, smiling softly. Eventually, though he had to get up. He carefully shifted Cas to one arm, trying not to jostle him.
"Mmmm…" Cas glanced up a bit to see what was going on and yawned again.
Halm made his way into the kitchen, preparing the ingredients for a small dinner for the both of them.
"What're you doing…?" Cas asked softly, watching the process from Halm's arms.
"Making dinner," Halm said. "It's just some noodles and sauce."
"Mmkay…" Cas fell quiet and closed his eyes again, content to just be held for now.
Halm looked down at Cas, smiling a little. When the noodles were done, he carried the food and Cas to the table.
"Fooood…" Cas looked up when he noticed they were moving away from the stove. "Yaaaay…"
Halm chuckled a little, setting the plates down and moving to do the same with Cas.
Cas clung to Halm with a quiet huff, clearly not wanting to be put down.
Halm conceded, picking Cas back up. Halm sat down with Cas in his lap, pulling Cas's plate over for him.
Cas started eating when he was settled in Halm's lap, seeming content enough with his position and pleased with the food.
Halm started eating as well, smiling a little. Cas was adorable, and he acted like a little kid sometimes. Still, Halm wouldn't treat him that way.
Cas soon finished his food and huddled close to Halm again, yawning a bit. He was smiling softly and seemed relaxed.
Halm had already finished. He picked Cas up, taking the plates to the sink.
"Are you ready to find your father?" Halm asked softly.
"Oh… um… yeah, sure…" Cas shifted a bit to be more comfortable, still staying very close to Halm.
