"It's fine," Halm said, looking over at Cas. "Do you need my help with something?"
"It's fine," Halm said, looking over at Cas. "Do you need my help with something?"
"Um… I woke up and I kept hearing these creepy whispers and like… a weird… um, tugging, I guess? Like, my chest was doing the tugging… it kinda freaked me out."
Halm pursed his lips, thinking.
"I can see why," he said softly to himself. He want really sure what was going on. "I think it would be safer if you slept with me to night. I don't want anything to happen to you, and it would be easier for me to tell what was going on if it happened again if I'm with you."
Cas nodded and managed to crawl onto the bed with a little difficulty. "Am I hearing the souls?" He asked tentatively while he tucked himself into the covers.
"That's a strong possibility," Halm noted. He himself got under the covers, still looking concerned.
"It's the tugging I'm worried about," he admitted.
"Mm… why's that?" Cas huddled close to Halm for warmth and yawned. He was clearly exhausted and was none too pleased at having been woken up in the middle of the night by the creepy whisperings of souls.
"The whispers can easily be explained away." Halm laid down completely, facing Cas.
"But the tugging… The things that I can think of aren't very good." He spoke softly, a dull whisper. They both needed their sleep.
"Mmm…" Cas yawned and closed his eyes. "Let's talk about it… in the mornin'…" He shifted to be more comfortable and soon drifted off to sleep again.
Halm put one arm over Cas as he slept, holding him close subconsciously. He woke up in the morning like that, both arms around Cas.
Cas was huddled close to Halm again, seeming content. He wasn't shivering and he hadn't woken up again.
Halm lightly patted Cas's head before gently pulling his arms away, sitting up.
Cas whined softly when Halm pulled away, starting to shiver lightly.
Halm tucked Cas in more with the blanket, being gentle with him.
Cas yawned and huddled into the blankets, smiling softly. He settled back down and sighed.
Halm stood and stretched, getting ready for the day.
Cas stayed asleep for now. His cat had joined him at this point and lay on top of him.
Halm decided he would come wake Cas up if he didn't get up on his own when breakfast was ready. He left the room, heading to the kitchen. He was making waffles today.
By the time breakfast was done, Cas was still sound asleep with his cat on top of him. He yawned a bit and shifted to be more comfortable.
Halm plated the food, seeing it on the table and heading in to wake Cas up.
"Cas," he said softly, walking over to the bed and gently shaking him. "Breakfast is ready."
"Mmmmm…" Cas buried himself further into the blankets, clearly not wanting to wake up.
"Come on, Cas," Halm said gently, pulling the blankets back a little.
"Noooooo…" Cas curled up into an unhappy ball, whining louder.
"You're breakfast is getting cold. At least get up to eat it?" Halm put this arms around Cas, ready to pick him up if need be.
"Mmm… but it's warm here…" He whined, trying to huddle into the blankets again.
Halm picked Cas up at that, holding him close.
"You can come back after we eat if you want to," he said, carrying Cas out.
"Mmkay…" Cas wrapped his arms around Halm's neck, still clearly half asleep.
Halm carried Cas to the kitchen, setting Cas down in his chair.
Cas yawned and lay his head again the table, shivering a bit from the cold.
Halm thought a moment when he saw Cas shiver.
"Do you want to sit with me?" He offered, knowing he could help keep Cas warm.
"Mmmm… sure…" Cas yawned again, but made no attempt to move from where he was.
