"Hopefully. Can I text you over the weekend?" Phoenix asked her softly, running a hand through his hair. "Or would you rather I not?"
"Hopefully. Can I text you over the weekend?" Phoenix asked her softly, running a hand through his hair. "Or would you rather I not?"
"You can text me yeah," Cicada responded as she pushed off from the car, "I might not respond right away, but I'll respond eventually."
"That's fine, I just wanted to make sure you were cool with it." He hummed, getting out of his car so he could give her a 'proper' goodbye. "I'll be around if you feel like hanging out. Or just talking to, possibly over the phone."
"I, thank you," Cicada closed her door and began making her way around to the front of the car. She had a smile on as she held the teddy bear close, "If I feel like hanging out I'll definitely call you then."
"Only if you want to. Don't feel pressured." Phoenix hummed holding his arms out, not sure if she'd want a hug or not. "I'll be happy to meet up with you."
Cicada walked up into his arms and hugged with a soft sigh, "I won't feel pressured promise. But if I am up to it then we can definitely hang out."
Nodding a bit, he kept quiet so he could enjoy the hug. It was nice- strange, but nice. After a minute or so, he pulled back with a light smile. "Well, get some sleep. I'll see you late, Cicada." Phoenix hummed, starting to get back in his car so he could drive off.
"You too. See you later," Cicada waved to him as she pulled away from the hug. She made her way over to the dorm building unlocking the door and stepping inside. There was a slim chance she would actually sleep and a high chance that she would be doing nothing tomorrow.
Once he was sure she was safely inside, he started off with a light smile. When all was quiet, he heard the pounding of his heart in his chest and let out a soft sigh. "My god, I'm too desperate… she isn't going to like me- she just can't." Phoenix muttered to himself, driving off.
Cicada walked into her dorm and over to her bed. Her arms were wrapped tightly around the bear and she pulled it away only to look at the bear. Her eyes went soft and she leaned her forehead against the little bear, "I can't like him. I, I can't. He can't like me either, there's no way. There's no way."
Pulling up to his dorm building, he let out a soft huff and shut off his car. He just wasn't going to think about it. He was going to have a nice weekend, without stressing over girls. There was no need to, so why should he? If Cicada was going to keep to herself, it gave him more time to relax and not think about it.
(Skip?)
(Mhm, but when to?)
(Mmmmm maybe when they meet up next which I think is supposed to be Wednesday?)
(Works for me! And yeah, it was Wednesday)
(Okay! I can start if you want.)
(That would be lovely.)
Cicada had been kind of avoiding Phe for the past few days. It was more of a subconscious decision made from not wanting to deal with her growing feelings. (Made especially clear after the disaster that was her birthday on Saturday. It was a mistake to go out and buy beer, it only caused her to get drunk and get a headache the next day.) However, she knew that it was Wednesday and she couldn't avoid him any longer. She walked out into the campus green and sent a message, 'Hey, I'm in the green if you still want to meet up today.'
Phoenix had definitely noticed her avoiding him. And quite frankly, he was worried. So when he got the text message, there weren't enough words to describe how relieved he felt. Pulling his phone out, he started to to send a message back to her. Though he hesitated before sending it in. Why would she have been avoiding him? Did she really not want to see him, but felt she had to? As he stood there debating over it, he felt anxieties rising up. He just needed to go see her. 'Sure! I'll be there soon.'
Cicada smiled seeing his text. She probably had to explain herself, but. But not today. She felt bad about keeping him in the dark and hopefully he wouldn't be for much longer. She sat down at one of the tables and let out a sigh tapping her fingers nervously against the table waiting for Phoenix.
After about five minutes, he saw her and froze. His anxieties were starting to rise once more, and he watched her from afar. What if she really didn't want to see him? What if he had annoyed her, and that's why he didn't want to see her? Incredibly numbly, he made his way over to her swallowing the lump in his throat. "H-hey."
Cicada smiled up at him still tapping away. She felt some her anxieties rise and she brushed a piece of hair off her face. He looked anxious, fuck she caused this by not talking to him. Her smile turned comforting and reassuring, "Hey. Um, sorry. For, uh, not talking with you sooner."
Forcing up a smile, he brushed it off. "It's nothing, don't worry about it." Phoenix told her, crossing his arms over his chest. 'Just chill!' Sucking in a deep breath, he came up to her. He needed to relax, because she didn't seem to be mad at him. She had told him where she was at. If she hadn't wanted to see him, she wouldn't have said anything. Right? "How are you doing?"
"I'm, okay. Ended up drinking most of my birthday away and have been dealing with the consequences since," Cicada admitted letting out a sigh and patted the seat next to her. She kept smiling over at him though it faltered a little, "And, I don't think it's nothing. I avoided you for the past what, 5 days? I mean, it wasn't intentional, but I still did it. And, and I'm sorry. I really didn't mean too. But, um, how are you doing?"
Phoenix's smile dropped, and he gave her a worried look. "I've been… fine, I guess. Not much has happened…" He mumbled with a light shrug. He didn't feel like giving much detail, more concerned about her. "Are you sure you're alright? No offense, but you don't look too hot. I know you said you went drinking- which I'm quite offended you went without me- but if it's been a few days, you shouldn't still be in this hangover."
"Heh sorry," Cicada laughed slightly as she looked over at him. Her face fell a little as she saw his worried look. Damnit he was all concerned about her again. She let out a sigh and rested on the table, "No, um, it's more like I realized shit while drunk and I'm having difficulty coping. But, uh, I'm fine promise. Anyways on the topic of drinking, want to get wasted Friday night?"
He wanted to keep talking to her- figure out what was going through her head. But clearly she didn't want to. "I- I mean, sure. I've got no plans, per-usual." Phoenix shrugged a little, sitting down across from her. "As long as you're up for it. You still seem off to me." He insisted, keeping his arms crossed over his chest as he controlled his breathing.
"Definitely," Cicada gave him a side smile as she looked at him. She would get a handle on her feelings and decide what the fuck to do by that point. Her eyes studied him for a moment before she continued on, "What about you? You don't look all that great at the moment."
Snapping out of his thoughts, he forced a smile up. "I'm alright. Just worried about you." He shrugged slightly, his smile slowly fading. His stupid head was telling him he should leave soon. She didn't want him here. But he couldn't make himself leave, even if that was true. "And my brain just sucks."
"Aren't brains always like that?" Cicada tried to joke to get that smile back onto his face. She kept smiling at him as she hummed a little in thought, "Sooo what do you want to do? Just talk and lay about in the green or maybe get some coffee? Just suggestions, if you have something else you want to do go ahead and say it."
