Phoenix felt a flush creep up on his face, but a smile pulled up too. "Mm, I told you I don't have friends." He mumbled, glancing over at her periodically. "So honestly, before you, it would have probably been me getting to see my mom… I might try and go see her over the weekend." He told himself softly.
"You probably should," Cicada said overhearing what he said to himself. She was studying his face a little finding his flushed cheeks quite adorable. Though she quickly looked back out the window so she wouldn't get caught, "I won't bother you this weekend."
"You mean you won't be around?" He asked her softly, shifting his gaze half on her. "Or are you just not trying to bug me? Because you wouldn't be if you felt like hanging out." Phoenix told her, drumming his fingers on the wheel.
"I'm still in town," Cicada responded hugging the bear close to her chest, "I don't have anywhere else to go, but I probably won't be up to hanging out. Take some time to myself ya know?"
"That's always good. If you need me to bring you anything, I can do that. Just text me, and let me know." He hummed, turning to an intersection and stopping at the light. "I'd be happy to go out for you."
Cicada smiled softly at him and let out a little sigh, "I, thank you. I probably won't need anything, at least that you'll need to get."
"Well, seriously. Don't hesitate to call. I can go out and get you ice cream, or something if you just want it so you don't have to leave." Phoenix hummed, starting up once the light turned green.
"Got it, thank you," Cicada continued to smile at him as she watched ahead of them. She let out a little sigh as she looked out the window again.
Phoenix drove on, and after about twenty minutes of quiet he wasn't able to stand it. Even though he liked his alone time, he always talked to himself. But he had a feeling she would think that was odd. "I- uh… I think we're almost home."
"Oh, yeah," Cicada acknowledge looking out to see the town in the distance. She looked over at him smiling a little bit, "This has been a fun night."
"Mhm…" Phoenix hummed, glancing over at her with a light smile. "It has been… I'd be more sad that it as over, if I wasn't so tired." He admitted with a light yawn.
"Same here," Cicada let out a slight laugh to push away the yawn that wanted to pop up. She failed and ended up yawning anyway. She shook her head and looked over at him, "Damn it. Now I'm yawning too."
"I'm sorryyyyy." Phoenix laughed with another yawn. "I can't help it. I'm sleepy." He mumbled, driving into the city and stopping at a red light. "If I could stop myself, I wouldn't be yawning."
Cicada let out a yawn with him as she laughed. She tried to cover her mouth to stop herself, "I don't think either of us would be. At least we're heading back to our dorm rooms, so we can sleep."
"Mmm, that's true. If I wasn't suppose to be driving, I'd just curl up and fall asleep now." Phoenix mumbled, rubbing his face before taking off. "They're not far thought. Only about five to ten minutes more."
"Good," Cicada nodded as she gave him a light bump to try and help keep him awake. She leaned back in her chair, "Can't wait to go to get sleep."
"You think you'll actually sleep?" Phoenix hummed, just being curious. He wanted to make sure she was positive of that fact. He cared that she was taking care of herself.
"Probably not," Cicada shrugged as she stayed leaned back in her seat. She brushed her hair with her hand as she continued to hold the bear close, "I'll probably be up all night pretending to be asleep."
"You can call me at whatever time, if you want someone to talk to." Phoenix hummed, holding back another yawn feeling his eyes water. "I might be half asleep, but I'll pick up."
"Will do," Cicada gave a mock salute as she yawned ever so slightly. She rubbed at her face letting her hands pull down her face, "But I'll feel bad about waking you up then. From one insomniac to another."
"Don't be. I seriously would much rather talk to you. It is the weekend." Phoenix hummed, turning on to the campus street. "There's no need for me to get up early. I'll probably be up late tomorrow, anyways."
"Doing what? Partying?" Cicada teased him knowing that wasn't what he was doing. She was more focused on him than her surroundings at the moment so she didn't even notice they were back on campus, "Or playing video games."
"Nah, I'll just be up. I like having time to myself, sometimes. So I might be walking around campus." Phoenix hummed with a light shrug. He didn't seem to have a plan, which was a little odd for him.
"Got it, no plans though? That seems very… Not you," Cicada told him as she studied him again. Her eyes narrowed slightly before saying again, "Are you feeling okay Phe?"
Pulling in to the campus, he glanced over at her. "I- yeah? I thought so… why ask?" Phoenix hummed softly, looking for her dorm. "I mean- besides going to see my mom, what is there to do? I don't really know, so I'm keeping it more open… I guess."
“I guess that makes sense,” Cicada leaned back in her seat and let out a little sigh, “Sorry just thought you would have planned to be doing homework or something like that.”
"I- true… I'm just too tired right now. I don't even know what day it is." He added on, in mostly a joking sense to get his point across. Yawning once again, he pulled to a stop with a light smile. "And I have a feeling, you're just as tired. So you should head to bed, as soon as you get inside."
"Yes mother," Cicada sighed jokingly. She finally saw that they were at her dorm and she went to leave the car holding the bear to her tight, "Anyway thanks for taking me out for the games, and the bear, and the crazy food adventure."
Smiling softly, he turned his head to watch her as she got out. "Of course. I'm happy to do that." Phoenix hummed, keeping up the light smile. "I'm just glad we did anything. Thanks for hanging around me."
"It was nothing," Cicada said leaning against the frame of the car as she left. She had a soft smile on, "I'll see you on Monday maybe."
