'The-the truth? I'm sorry, sir, but I don't quite understand what you mean… look, I'm awfully sorry but I need to go, can you please come back another day?'
'The-the truth? I'm sorry, sir, but I don't quite understand what you mean… look, I'm awfully sorry but I need to go, can you please come back another day?'
Both men’s expressions suddenly darkened. “Open the-“ the Hispanic man started, his tone threatening.
Yeon had jumped up and hurried to the door. He didn’t want there to be a chance that Tyler could get hurt because of his buisness. “Miguel, hola! Sorry or the wait, I was in the other room,” he said. He looked over at Tyler with a smile, directing his attention to him now. “Hey, how about you go sit down and finish eating, okay?”
'O-Okay,' he mumbled, slightly concerned. He tried to reassure himself. Without another word, he slipped back into the living room.
“What going on, hermano? How’s Cuba treating you?” Yeon asked in a casual tone.
“Skip the formalities, that isn’t why we’re here. Now, rumor has it, Yeon the lady killer has found himself a little boy toy! Now, seriously, though, man. Is that true?”
“So what if it is?” Yeon started, frowning now. “Why, you got a problem with that?”
“Me? No, I don’t. But the boss, well, he’s not loving it.”
Tyler listened into the conversation slightly as he bit into a pizza slice. As soon as he heard the last part, his whole body froze up.
Shit.
He decided to text a couple of his friends who could fight in case anything went on.
Clicking onto the group chat, he started to type.
Tyler: Hey, can you guys maybe come round? There's some stuff that might be going down with a guy I'm… talking with.
Aiden: Sure. I'm with Jenni and Avery atm, where you want us to be?
Tyler: Park around the corner from my house. I don't want them to see you just yet.
Aiden: We'll be there in a few mins.
“Since when is it any of his buisness?” Yeon asked with a heavy frown, Tyler crossing his mind again. “I’m done with the drug game, I told him that.”
“Yeah, well, you also fucked his daughter, so that changes a few things,” Miguel said with a sharp cackle like it was hilarious.
“Seriously? You think I would ever do something like that with Elena, for Christsake?”
“Hey, I know what I hear. Now, who’s the lucky guy, huh? Was it that kid who answered the door?”
“It doesn’t matter, leave him out of this, got it?” Yeon said in a stern tone, beginning to close the door. He was stopped, though, when the other man’s hand roughly grabbed the front of his shirt and just about threw him out into the hall.
Tyler heard someone falling or stumbling, and checked his phone immediately.
Aiden: We here. What's going down?
Tyler: GET HERE ASAP. I THINK HE JUST GOT THROWN.
Aiden: SHIT WE COMIN we got Aleksander too dw bout it
Yeon felt a sharp kick to his ribs and he grunted sharply before rolling away and getting to his feet. Of course, the one day he didn’t have his gun on him. “Grab the kid,” Miguel instructed the other man. He nodded and stepped into the apartment, a dangerous glint in his eyes.
While Miguel was distracted for a moment, Yeon shoved past him. His arms went around the other man’s waist from behind and tackled him to the ground. “Leave him out of this!” Yeon spat, hands grabbing onto the man’s neck and squeezing.
(imma do aiden and the others now)
Seeing that the door was wide open to Tyler's home, Aiden looked inside and looked at the scene. Someone was strangling someone, and another guy looked like he was about to attack the guy strangling someone.
'Would've been easier if Tyler had told us which one was which,' muttered Jenni, rolling up her sleeves. She slipped into the house quietly, and just as one of the men was about to punch the strangler, she grabbed him from behind, kicked the back of his right knee and pushed him to the floor. She then proceeded to kick him in the sides a couple times.
'Typical Jenni, jelly-legged him,' laughed Avery, before pushing past Aiden and Aleks and pushing away the guy who was strangling another guy. They sent an uppercut to his jaw, however, the guy was obviously expecting this punch and pushed Avery's fist back.
Meanwhile, Aleks and Aiden were currently kicking the absolute shit out of the guy who'd been strangled. Tyler appeared in the doorway of the living room, watching the scene in pure shock. He saw Avery about to kick Yeon, and shouted, 'Avery, stop!'
(I CANT DO FIGHT SCENES H E L P)
(Lmao it’s all good)
Yeon was surprised when more people had come into the apartment. He growled when he noticed the woman’s stance and quickly grabbed the back of the woman’s calves, yanking hard enough to knock her to the ground.
Yeon scrambled to his feet and looked at Tyler with wide eyes. “Tyler, what the hell is going on?!”
Tyler would have had time to answer when suddenly, a gunshot went off, it making a small hole in the ceiling. Miguel shoved away from someone’s grip, the small pistol in hand. “Everyone back the hell up! ¡Yeong, trae tu asqueroso trasero por aquí!“ Miguel shouted, switching to Spanish with ease.
Yeon raised his hands quickly in surrender, giving Tyler a look, hoping he’s smart enough to do the same. “¡Jesucristo, Miguel, no dispares a nadie!” Yeon snapped back.
'U-uhm…' Tyler mumbled, still in shock at the gun. He raised his hands quickly after seeing Yeon do it. The others did the same, faces in complete shock.
“¡Fuera!” Miguel shouted, motioning to Tyler and his friends as the other man slowly got up.
“Tyler, take your… friends outside, okay?” Yeon said softly, brows raised in expectance. “I’ll be okay,” he added, hesitantly pressing a kiss to Tyler’s forehead, Miguel snickering.
Tyler was momentarily calmed at Yeon's kiss, but then his anxiety shot back up as Yeon pulled away. 'O-Okay…' he stuttered. He motioned to Jenni and the others. 'Guys, l-let's go outside, okay?'
An angered-looking Aleks shoved past Miguel, shortly followed by the others.
As soon as they were outside, Aleks began to swear quietly. 'Fuck, fuck, fuck, why didn't I just kill them both?'
'Calm the fuck down!' shot Jenni, nudging Aleks. 'We'll… do something, okay?'
'If only we had Casper, he would've been able to give us bottles of vodka to smash on their heads,' muttered Avery sadly.
Aiden gave Avery a sad look. 'If only.'
“What the hell do you think you’re doing with all this, Yeong?” Miguel questioned once the others were gone, keeping the weapon leveled at Yeon.
“I know exactly what I’m doing. I’m finally getting what I want. Why does the boss even care?” Yeon shot back.
“Because his goddamn daughter went to him all sad and shit because you apparently ‘used her’.”
“Elena is full of shit. If she thought I would actually develop something then that bitch is crazy. I was wasted as hell, I didn’t know what I was doing.”
“Exactly. Boss is pissed simply because of that. It is his daughter, and you know how fathers can get.”
Jenni sighed. 'Come on, we can't start thinking about Casper now. I know it's sad, but we couldn't help it. Now, from what I can hear…' she leaned her head a bit further toward the door. 'Yeon used to be part of some sort of gang… and did something with a boss' daughter? The fuck?'
Taken aback, Tyler gave Jenni a strange look. 'He… gangs? I mean, he describes where he comes from as crime-ridden, but I would never suspect him being a part of it…'
“So what? He wants me to take responsibility for my actions? You have to be fucking kidding me,” Yeon argued.
“Yeong, it is your kid to she’s going to be having,” Miguel said with a frown.
“Jesus Christ, just tell her to abort or something. I can’t have kids right now, and I don’t want kids right now.”
“You know you have to come with us,” the other man spoke up.
“I’m not going anywhere, I’m perfectly fine where I am. And who the hell are you anyways? Why do you think you could be giving orders to someone like me?” Yeon snapped at him in a growl like tone.
“You know what, Yeong? Fine. We’ll go. The last thing I want to do is shoot you, your dad would order my throat slit with the snap of his fingers. I hope you know that this will come back to bite you in the ass. And I’d keep an eye on that pretty boy of yours. You know how the rules work,” Miguel said, stepping to the door and opening it up, coming face to face with the group. He gave an amused smile as he looked at them.
“Listeners, hm?” Miguel spoke up, the other man walking over.
“Miguel,” Yeon growled from behind him, a dangerous glint in his dark eyes. Miguel chuckled, hands raised in surrender. He murmured a quick phrase in spanish, giving Yeon something like a mock salute before walking past the group and down the hall.
After the men had left, Tyler raced into his home and tackled Yeon in a hug. 'Are you okay? What did they do? What's going on? Are you hurt?'
The others trailed behind him. Aleks picked up a fallen photo frame and put it back in its place–it was a photo of Casper and Aleks. He dusted it off a little bit, then took his eyes away from it. Too many memories.
Yeon made a noise if surprise when Tyler was suddenly latching onto him. “I’m okey, everything is okay now. They are.. old buisness partners, and they just wanted to have a chat. It’s fine now,” he assured, pressing a kiss to Tyler’s forehead. God, he was happy that Tyler didn’t get hurt.
But he thought of what Miguel had said. It was the trademark Mexican Drug Cartel phrase- ‘plata o plomo’, meaning ‘silver or lead’. In short, it meant give us what we want, or face consequences. And those consequences tended to be a brutal death.
'Didn't sound like that,' mumbled Jenni. 'All I heard was something about a baby, a gang, and a daughter. Hate to make it negative, but it doesn't sound great.'
Tyler raised one eyebrow, giving Yeon a calculating look. 'A baby?'
Yeon gave a heavy, sharp sigh, running a hand over his face. “I didn’t know about the baby, in my defense. I got completely wasted one night and slept with one of the higher-up’s daughter. I didn’t know it until recently that she was pregnant and the kid was apparently mine,” he explained, deciding it was best to just come clean. Not for his sake, but for Tyler’s.
'Well…' he paused for a moment, unsure of what to say. He shouldn't judge Yeon for doing this–everyone stumbled at points in their lives, right? 'It's… fine. I'm just concerned about you. They didn't sound like they had the best intentions.'
Aleks placed a hand on Tyler's shoulder. 'Tyler, you do realise you're in danger if you stay with him… right?'
Tyler pushed Aleks' hand away. 'Not if they can't find us, Ally.'
Yeon gave the person who Tyler called Ally a sharp glare, jaw clenched tightly. “Tyler is not going to get hurt at all, I’m going to make sure of that,” he said in a low tone before looking back at Tyler, features softening. “I have a few contacts, they can make sure that Miguel or that other guy doesn’t come anywhere near us.”
Aleks gave the man a long, hard stare. 'And how do I know that you'll make sure of this?'
'Shut up, Aleksander Stankiewicz,' said Tyler in a stern voice, giving Aleks a slightly angry stare. He rarely got frustrated. 'I know he can protect me. He always sticks by his word.'
Rolling his eyes, Aleks broke his gaze away from the man. 'Fine. But if you get shanked–'
'Quit it already, Ally,' mumbled Jenni, grabbing his hood and yanking him back a bit.
“Nothing is going to happen to Tyler,” Yeon further insisted, an arm slipping around Tyler’s waist to tug him closer. “I think we should talk,” he said in a softer tone now, looking over at Tyler. They needed to talk about what Tyler could have heard, mostly about Elena and the possible baby.
Tyler nodded. 'Guys, thanks for coming and helping, but I think it would be best for you to go. We'll hang out soon, okay?'
Jenni, Aiden, and Avery nodded in agreement, saying their goodbyes before leaving quickly. Aleks lingered for a moment, giving Yeon a slight glare. 'Call me if you need me,' he said to Tyler before following the others.
Tyler turned to Yeon, trying to give him a reassuring smile as he wrapped his arms around him. 'I'm sorry about Aleks. He's really protective.'
Yeon’s arms slipped around Tyler’s form, tugging the other against his chest. “It’s okay, he has a good reason to be. This shit is pretty crazy.. How about we go sit down or something, okay?” He said quickly. He knew he was rambling, and it was most likely because he wanted to stall the conversation.
'Yeah,' he said. He stayed in Yeon's hold for a moment, resting his head against Yeon's chest. He then moved away and headed towards the living room. 'Come on, let's sit down.'
Yeon reluctntly followed Tyler, moving to sit down on the sofa. Once Tyler was sat as well, he gave a heavy sigh. He glanced around the room, wondering how he could further stall having this talk. “Sorry about the ceiling,” he decided to say, eyes trained on the small bullet hole.
'Oh, it's fine, there's been worse that's happened to my house,' replied Tyler, remembering the time Joey and Aleks did it drunk on the couch and… he didn't want to dwell on it further. 'Well, things that have been harder to clean or fix. Anyway… what are we gonna do?'
“We’ll just have to be very careful.. The Sinaloa Cartel is extremely dangerous. They mostly just traffic drugs across borders and distribute them, but they have been known to torture and kill people. We should be generally safe, I have a slight immunity- but ‘accidents’ can happen,” Yeon explained slowly.
