Phoenix noted her blush, and his smile relaxed a bit. "Yeah… it does." He hummed softly, picking up his own fork. "Cheers to finally getting food." He joked, holding his fork out to her.
Phoenix noted her blush, and his smile relaxed a bit. "Yeah… it does." He hummed softly, picking up his own fork. "Cheers to finally getting food." He joked, holding his fork out to her.
Cicada clinked her fork with his as she smiled at him. She let out a little laugh as she echoed his words, "Cheers to finally getting food."
Chuckling, he pulled it back and started to dig in. "I can't believe we drove almost an hour with realizing…" He hummed, his face lighting up in delight when he tasted the food.
"It is a little crazy that that happened," Cicada kept laughing as she pulled up a forkful of noodles. She lit up a little as she tasted it and hummed a little. It wasn't as spicy as she would have liked, but it wasn't bad overall.
"And I do admit, this is good, but I probably would have stopped somewhere else. Maybe at one of the other twenty some places we passed." Phoenix mumbled with a weak smile. He was honestly kind of tired, the day having finally caught up to him. "Because the drive back is going to take just as long."
"Yeah," Cicada let out a sigh as she took another bite. She could tell Phoenix was tired, at least now she could. Who knew how long he had been tired, "We probably should have stopped anywhere else, but this is kind of fun."
Phoenix nodded in agreement, taking a sip of water. "It has been… does this count as adventure, or are you still trying to get me on the 'wild side'?" He asked in a joking tone, smiling softly.
"Well considering this is your first time out of the city, we'll just stick with adventure for today," Cicada teased him slightly. She sipped her water with a smile even though there was no heat build yet.
"Mm, alright. Guess that's fair." Phoenix smiled lightly, running a hand through his hair. "I also can't drink and drive, so we'd have to find some kind of inn to stay at for the night." He hummed, going back to eating.
"Yeah, I don't want to do that," Cicada let out a laugh and continued to eat. She hummed a little and looked at him, "And I'm not legal yet. Yet."
"You'll have to tell me when you are." He told her in a light hum, not even sounding like he was trying for anything. Not on purpose anyways. "So I can prepare myself for when you might pull me into a trap."
"Oh definitely," Cicada nodded a little trying his tone. She would tell him two days after her birthday, so he would have warning, but also wouldn't know her birthday, "But I'll make sure you've got nothing going on first."
"Mm, thanks. That's greatly appreciated." Phoenix smiled, resting his chin on his palm with a light sigh. "Though, make sure it aligns with your plans as well. Wouldn't want you drunk before you go out."
"Oh definitely," Cicada let out another laugh as she dug further into her plate (bowl?) of noodles. She kept looking up at him, "I wouldn't think about being hangover and needing to go out."
“Alright, just making sure.” Phoenix hummed, his stomach quite satisfied as he continued to eat. “That could be bad.”
"It would be bad," Cicada corrected him. She felt her stomach getting full and she was grateful for it, "Hangovers are a bitch."
"Mm, guess so." Phoenix hummed, smiling a little as he set his fork aside. "I'd agree, but even when I drank I never got drunk." He told her with a light laugh.
"Oh then this is going to be interesting," Cicada let out a laugh. She looked at him resting her head on her hand pausing for her moments, "Your first time being drunk is also going to be you getting absolutely wasted."
"Well, sure will be interesting." Phoenix hummed with a light smirk. "Let's just hope we're both in one piece by the end of this." He mumbled, running a hand down his face with a yawn.
"Yeah," Cicada nodded as she watched over at him. She ran a hand through her hair and studied Phoenix for a moment, "Do you need me to drive back to the campus?"
"Hmm? Oh, no." Phoenix hummed, shaking his head back and forth. He didn't want to make her drive, she was probably just as tired as he was. "I don't mind, I'll be alright to drive back." He insisted, perking up a little bit.
"Okay, if you say so," Cicada replied with a grin as she leaned back in her seat. She didn't completely believe him, but she wasn't going to ask him to stop.
Sighing a bit, he finished off his food and pushed his bowl aside. "Well, I'm full." Phoenix mumbled, picking up his water glass and sipping from it. "How 'bout you?"
"Same here," Cicada said pushing the empty bowl away from her smiling. She took another sip of water humming a little, "Should we start making our way back?"
"Oh, probably. Do we wanna see if there's anything out here, first?" Phoenix asked her, starting to get up from his seat. "We won't come out here often."
Cicada followed after him standing up as well. She messed with her hair again, "Nah, I can come out here on my own. If I find anything interesting I'll let you know."
"Alright, if you're sure. Thought I'd offer, at least." Phoenix hummed with a light smile. "Ready to head out?" He asked her, holding a hand out to her.
"Yep," Cicada replied happily as she took his hand. She started towards the door, "And yeah I'm sure. I'm sure you've had enough adventure for today."
"I mean, if you wanted it, I could muster up the ability to have more adventure. I'm able to do that." Phoenix told her with a light smile. Though he wasn't opposed to just going home.
"No, no. We've got an hour drive to get back to campus," Cicada laughed as she made her way through the front entrance, "I'm getting tired. You're getting tired. Let's just head back."
