Ashera smiled in relief and hugged Asa. ”Good. I thought I moved too quickly.” she admitted. ”I’ve had a bit of a problem doing that in the past. Not in relationships, just misunderstanding friendships sometimes.”

"I see," Asa said. "Thankfully, I'm used to people treating me like a family member from the get go. And I don't mind it at all. I find it a bit nice, actually." Asa hugged Ashera back, smiling.

Ashera nodded. ”I see.” It made sense for people to treat their pets that way but… that wasn't quite what she had meant. Actually, she wasn't completely sure if she had really meant much of anything. Perhaps just a token of good friendship.

Ashera smiled and continued petting her, glad that Asa didn't seem to mind her… free-spirited affection. It may be too soon to say it but she really liked Asa. Definitely more than a pet and maybe, just maybe, more than a friend? She wasn't sure yet.

Asa wasn't really sure what to make of Ashera. She was… Different, than her previous owner. Made Asa feel different too. Still, this was the best she could hope for from life, so she would take it willingly.

Ashera hummed thoughtfully for a moment before shrugging. ”I can't think of anything interesting or important right now.” she told her. ”But if you think of anything you want to know about me, I won't be offended if you ask.”

She had to bite her lip to keep from laughing as she noticed her friend was sleep. Moving careful, to not wake Asa, she carried her upstairs and tucked her in bed. I doubt she was lying but… If Asa was telling the truth, then she wouldn't mind if… we continue to… share?

Asa snuggled down even more, but her eyes opened when she felt the cold around her. She wasn't on Ashera's lap anymore, but she was on Ashera's bed. Did that mean they could still share? Asa hoped so.

Ashera put away the leftover food and set the dishes in the sink. She could clean them in the morning. It wasn't really late yet but it had been a long… eventful day, she decided as she headed back up to bed.

Asa mumbled a bit in response, flipping her head to look over at Ashera. Well, that's what she had intended. Her head ended up resting on Ashera's leg.
"Not my fault, imma baby," she said, more intelligibly.

Ashera chuckled a little at the reply… and Asa leaning against her leg. ”I know.” she said, starting to pet her again. ”I was actually coming back to join you. It's been a long day, for both of us and… I was wondering, well,” she paused to clear her throat. ”You said that everything you did before, you would have done the same thing if you didn't have to hide, so I was hoping that we could continue to share my bed.”
