"a lot and I don't have that much and I can't get locked up there again"she said starting to cry "I'll kill myself if the time comes and I don't have enough money I will kill myself I don't care what happened"

"Will 500 thousand cover it?" she asked, watching as her son left before crouching down beside Vanessa "you;re not going there."

She sniffled " I should leave"

"how. much. will. cover. it." Harley repeated again, slowly this time, her patience running low.

"it's my job to pay it and if I can't pay it I have to run" she said

"until what? they kill you off?" She shook her head and stood "that's not going to happen

" I don't care my whole life I'm just going to be the monster no one's ever going to care about me" she said

Harley whirled in place, her temper snapped "really?! then what about Brink? what about us? Have we not cared about you?! Have we not loved you?! Has Brink not given you his heart? And have you not given yours his? Doesn't that show that you're capable of being loved?!"

"you think I don't know that I try everyday to be the perfect daughter but I can't and I never will be able to" she said "this is so hard for daughter to ask for mother to accept her the way she is?"

"We don't ask for you to be perfect Ness. None of us are. none of us want to be perfect. To fir the mold Gotham tries to force us into." She sighed softly, trying to calm her nerves.

"I just wanted parents that's all I ever wanted but my dad didn't even want me and neither did my mom no my dad is dead and my mom hates me don't love me she never did" she said turning her head away as she sobbed

Harley walked over and set a hand on her shoulder "I know kitty cat. but now you have people that love you, despite what you may feel about yourself,"

"I'm scared' she said

SHe let out a breath of laughter "That's natural cat, especially when one feels the safest. Just know that none of us will let you get hurt, no matter what."

She let out shaky breath

"Now, are you going to let me get that thing out of you?"

She nodded with a sniffle

Harley sighed in relief and helped her stand. She guided her to the bathroom and sat her down on the edge of the bathtub. "Now i'm going to inject some novocain into the spot, I'm not willing to wake the whole house up at this time."

"trust me I won't make a noise maybe some hissing" she said

Harley nodded but still continued with the injection, carefully putting it into her neck "whatever you do, do not claw or bite me."

"I won't " she said

SHe nodded and pulled out the needle, masagging the area gently and suporting her head "now you're going to lose feeling there for a while, probably until morning. Don't move your neck to much and don't test your limits with it. Ready?"

She smiled slightly "yeah"

Harley nodded and started the procedure, cutting into the skin with the knife before carefully pulling away until she found the tracker, she pulled it out carefully and crushed it with the handle of the blade until it was small bits of metal. "alright, i'm going to stitch you up, you doing ok?"

"Y-yeah' can I ask you something. . .why didn't brink do it?" She asked

She sighed softly while stitching Vanessa up, "he doesn't do too well with his loved ones getting hurt, especially when it's at his hands. He once accidently pushed Jacks off a ledge. It wasn;t too high but she ended up breaking her arm. He felt so guilty afterwards that the image of him hurting some he loved never sat right with him. I guess with you its a bit more intense since he feels something other than family love towards you."

" really sorry I didn't mean to upset you" she said

"Don't worry about it, I'm jsut glad you decided to stay." She replied, offering a soft smile

" Its just I care about you all of you and that's when my walls come up but I would have never walked in here if I was putting any of you. In danger I knew my time limits and I would have left a week before that time I just had to spend my last remáinig weeks with brink because quite frankly I love him more than I've ever loved anyone or anything and I'm positive I wouldn't survive without him"

"He wouldn't either, knowing that the love of his life was forced to leave due to a tracking device. You know he hates seeing you suffer so much. Earlier today I saw him standing outside Wayne manor. I'm assuming to go after Benjamin. But then he just walked off, unhappy but he forced himself to stay in control, all for you."
