Melissa sighed with a soft smile. "I might, it's better than coming home alone." She hummed softly to him, keeping their fingers linked. "You're sure your coach would be okay with that?"
Melissa sighed with a soft smile. "I might, it's better than coming home alone." She hummed softly to him, keeping their fingers linked. "You're sure your coach would be okay with that?"
"Yeah, he's chill. I don't think he'll mind you being there." Lucas smiled a bit and started walking off in the direction of the school.
"I just don't want to be a distraction." Melissa shrugged, taking in a deep breath as they walked outside. "To you, or anyone else."
"You won't be. Don't worry." Lucas gently kissed Melissa on the cheek and kept walking. "As long as you aren't, like, screaming at the top of your lungs, I'm sure you'll be fine."
"Well, I seriously doubt I'll be doing that. I'll probably be doing homework." Melissa hummed, chewing on her lip while she talked. "Most likely at least. We'll see what happens."
Lucas nodded a bit. "Alright, that's fine with me." He started humming to himself again while they walked.
After a few minutes, she rested her head on his shoulder with a soft sigh. “Are we still trying to hide this?”
"Um… yeah, I think so? Unless you don't want to, of course… it doesn't matter either way to me." Lucas shrugged.
“Mm, as long as I don’t find you making out with another girl who didn’t know, I’m down to do it.” Melissa hummed, a teasing smile pulling up on her lips.
Lucas laughed a bit. "I'm sure I'm totally the type to make out with random people. We haven't even made out. I don't think so, anyways…"
“Mm, nope. I think things would get really awkward for us both, real quick.” Melissa smiled softly, kissing his cheek. “You get flustered too easily anyways.”
"Y-Yeah… even the stuff we've been doing gets me flustered sometimes." Lucas flushed a bit and returned the kiss.
Snickering a bit, Melissa pokes the tip of his nose. “Even now you’re blushing. I don’t think you’d be up for anything more.” She hummed, taking his arm and wrapping it around her.
Lucas huffed indignantly. "Yeah, yeah…" He pulled her close as he walked. "Did we decide to be open with this or no?"
“Mm, I thought we had decided to keep it a secret for the time being.” Melissa stated, not sounding too sure. “But, if you don’t want to do that, I’ll be alright.”
"Anything is fine, Mel… considering how affectionate we are, it might be kinda hard to hide, though."
“But weren’t we pretty affectionate, even before you told me?” She asked him, sounding more like a statement.
"I mean, yeah… but we weren't kissing each other all the time or anything."
Melissa nodded, contemplating over what to do. “Mm… true. We’ll just have to not be so lovey-dovey I guess. That shouldn’t be too hard, right?”
"Uh… yeah. Easy." Lucas laughed and gently kissed Melissa again. "No problem at all. It's not like I like you or anything."
“Oh? You do?” Melissa asked in mock surprise. “I had no idea- but it kind of was like that. I really didn’t know, and thinking on it, it was quite obvious.”
"Yeah, I don't know how good I am at hiding my feelings." Lucas laughed. "Considering how much of an open book I am, anyways."
“Mm, you’re better at it than I thought. I didn’t know about your home situation for years.” Melissa mumbled, nuzzling her nose up against his cheek.
"True, true… I did unfortunately get quite good at lying about that." Lucas smiled weakly.
“Which worries me some,” Melissa admitted with a weak sigh. “I’m worried that you’re not going to tell me the next time you’re hurting.”
"I'm gonna try, Mel… I'm not going to lie and say that it doesn't make me incredibly anxious, though."
“I know it does. I just wanna make sure you’re okay.” Melissa whispered, wrapping her arms around his waist.
Lucas nodded. "I know, I know… I just hate to bother you, Mel. I know I'm kind of a handful emotionally."
“No worse than me when I’m having a mental breakdown.” Melissa shrugged, kissing his cheek softly. “We’re teenagers. We’re not entirely emotionally stable.”
"I'm a little more unstable than your average teen, but I digress." Lucas sighed and returned the kiss.
