Rowan was close to falling asleep, so he wasn't too flustered. He was basically flush up against Damien by now.

Damien shut his notebook, putting his homework back into his bag. "Hey, Ro? I think I'm gonna go to bed."

"Mmm… okay." Rowan moved away and hoisted himself up on his crutches.

Damien got up with a stretch. He scooped up Ginger, who was hanging out nearby. "G'night."

"G'night." Rowan grabbed his bag and headed into the bathroom to get ready for bed.

Damien dropped Ginger off on his bed, throwing on a set of basketball shorts and a loose tank top. He ducked into the bathroom to brush his teeth once he saw Rowan leave it.

Rowan tossed his crutches on the floor and flopped on the bed, yawning a bit. Milo joined him and curled up with him.

Damien dropped onto his bed, smoothing Ginger's fur as he scrolled on his phone.

Rowan just huddled up under the covers and soon fell asleep.

Damien fell asleep after a few minutes as well, though he was on top of the sheets instead of underneath.

Rowan ended up huddled up against Damien again, naturally still asleep in the morning when Damien woke up. Today was the first day he was supposed to try and go to school again.

Damien woke up with his alarm, rubbing his eyes. He sat up, getting out of bed to dig for that day's clothes.

Rowan stirred when Damien got up. He yawned and stretched a bit before looking over to Damien. "I'm going to school today, right?"

"Yeah, you should be. I'm gonna be leaving in.." Damien checked the time on his phone. "An hour?"

"Mmmmm… I'll get ready." Rowan sighed, crawling to the edge of the bed to grab his crutches. "It'll take me a while with these stupid things anyway."

"Alright, man, don't rush it. You've got time." Damien finished tugging on his shoes, going to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

"Yeah, yeah…" Rowan changed into actual clothes and tossed his old ones into his bag to wash later. Once Damien was out of the bathroom, he went in to finish getting ready.

"Hey– you eat breakfast?" Damien called from the kitchen, grabbing his backpack.

"Do I or have I?" Rowan asked, heading into the kitchen so he could hear Damien better.

"Do you?" Damien asked, looking back at Rowan.

"Not really, but I can." Rowan shrugged. "Usually I sleep in so that I've got just enough time to get ready, so I don't eat."

"Yeah, fair enough. I normally do the same thing, just wanted to give a good impression this time." Damien clicked his tongue, laughing a little bit.

"Makes sense." Rowan yawned a bit and looked over at the clock. "Should we head out?"

"Yeah, wouldn't hurt." Damien dug two cereal bars out of the pantry, stuffing them in his pocket for when they were in the car. "You need me to get your backpack, or are you good?"

"Um… I can get it." Rowan grabbed his backpack and carefully put it on. "Alright, let's go."

Damien opened the door, letting Rowan out first before leaving the house. "You excited to get back?"

"Not in the slightest, but it beats being here or in a hospital all day." Rowan laughed weakly and left the house.

"Fair enough." Damien opened the car door for Rowan, going around to hop in on his own side. "Bet you're gonna do fine, though."

"Hopefully." Rowan climbed into the car with a soft sigh. "I'm sure gonna try my damnedest."

"Yeah, man. You'll be okay." Damien looked over at him, reaching over to ruffle his hair again before starting up the car. "You want music?"
