"Yes" she said lightly gritting her teeth at the nickname

He raised a brow at her tone. ”I’m sorry, love. I didn't mean to upset you.”

She sighed, I know I'm sorry" she said leaning against the wall

”It’s alright, darling.” he said. ”You know I love you, right?”

"uh, um, Yeah" she said

”Good.” he sighed softly in relief. ”Because I know I've messed up with us before and I’m so very very sorry. Even though you have every right and reason to be afraid of me… of what I am, I don't want you to be.”

He wasn't aware of that thought but his love for her was completely genuine. There was no need for him to try to pretend when he loved her so completely. He sighed a little at her answer, feeling like she didn't believe him. ”Okay…” As much as he missed her already, he wasn't going to ask her to come home if she wasn't ready.
