"I can if you want me to." Lloyd shrugged. "I don't think I should take him to the meeting."
"I can if you want me to." Lloyd shrugged. "I don't think I should take him to the meeting."
"Please leave him??" he asked, biting his lip.
"Alright, alright, I will." Lucas laughed softly.
He smiled happily. "Thank you!"
"No problem, Ellis. I should probably get going now. Keep an eye on the dogs!" Lloyd grabbed his crutches and left the room to go to the meeting.
Ellis grinned, taking Lio and kissing the pup's forehead. "See you!"
Lloyd headed into the room where the meeting was being held to find Anton and his father already there.
Ellis kept petting Lio happily.
Anton looked up. "Ah. Hello." he greeted.
"Hello." Lloyd dipped his head politely and lowered himself into a chair. "What exactly do you want to talk about?"
"I was under the impression that this was just for discussion of…well. Everything."
Lloyd nodded. "Well, the wedding will have to be after I've healed… I know that much. I can't imagine that being more than a month."
Anton nodded. "Right. How are you doing, by the way?"
Lloyd shrugged a bit. "I still can't walk very effectively, but I think I'm doing better than when I was originally shot."
"That's good." he drummed his fingers for a moment.
"Erm… Ellis was shot, by the way. I… don't know if you knew. He's okay, though…"
Anton blinked. "I…was not aware, no." he replied.
Lloyd nodded a bit and looked down at the table awkwardly. "Like I said, he's alright, I just… figured you'd wanna know."
Anton nodded. "Well. That's good."
"Mhmm… he should hopefully be fully recovered soon. I still feel bad about it…" He sighed.
"It isn't your fault if he was stupid enough to get shot."
Lloyd looked up at Anton, surprised. "It wasn't stupidity, Anton. He was shot through a window while his back was turned. Don't you care?"
Anton sighed. "If he had been where he should have, it wouldn't have happened."
"I invited him, so technically, he was supposed to be there."
"Well, maybe you shouldn't be interfering with his job."
Lloyd rolled his eyes. "You can't work him to death, Anton. He'll be miserable."
"I'm not working him to death, don't be so dramatic. He's perfectly healthy except for the gunshot wound, and in any case, it seems to me that he was in better condition before you started interfering."
Lloyd flushed a bit and crossed his arms. "But I… he's happier when he's not constantly working. Life is different here, Anton. We want the staff to be happy here too."
Anton sighed, shaking his head a little bit. "Yeah? He's never complained about being otherwise, so. Way I see it, is you're constantly distracting him and I told him that I thought so. I thought I was clear about the fact that he needed to put his work first, screwing around with you second, but I suppose he didn't listen."
"Well, he's listening to me over you, apparently." Lloyd met Anton's eyes, his arms still crossed. Rightfully so.
"Right. Which would be all well and good if he was still working when he's with you, but he isn't. Instead, he's goofing off and ignoring all of the work he needs to be doing."
