She brought the gun up to point between his eyes.
"I said, talk quickly."

Jonas pulled the sword from the suspicious-looking umbrella and held it up near the man’s throat.

"There's a lot to talk about. Put down the gun and I'll explain myself."

Clara gritted her teeth. "I'm pretty sure having a gun pointed at you doesn't make you lose all powers of speech."

"What I say might make you upset, and you might make a snap decision. You seem like a 'shoot first ask questions later' kind of person to me. Put the gun down, and we'll talk."

Clara slowly lowered the gun.

"Okay…" she said

"Thank you," he said, breathing a sigh of relief. "My name is George Babineaux. I work for a hacker organization, and I've been instructed to… take out a few people."

Clara seemed unimpressed. "Why?"

"They don't tell me why, and I don't ask," he admitted. "But I'm sure they have a reason."

Jonas sighed and turned to Clara. "I think I know exactly what you're going to say next…"

"Well, we'll just have to pay them a visit and ask," Clara announced.

George's eyes widened. "I strongly advise that you do not do that," he said.

"How come?" Clara asked. "I've probably been in more dangerous situations before…"

"Listen, I'm not supposed to disclose any information to you. However, if you promise not to come after us," he started, inhaling. "I'll leave you alone. All of you. But you'd have to fake your death."

Clara brought the gun up to point at him again. "I've faked my death before. It's boring. Going to visit this organisation of yours would be a far better use of my time, so… information. Now."

Jonas sighed. "Why are you always like this?" He muttered.

"Shut up Jonas you're not my mother," Clara whispered in reply.

Jonas sighed and rolled his eyes.

"I'm not supposed to say. I don't even know much myself."

((It's okay. Sorry if I came across as rude.))
"Okay then… why don't you drive Jonas and I to your boss or bosses, and we can all have a chat."
Jonas seems unimpressed.

"That's definitely not a good idea," he said, starting to shake a bit. "Look, um, why don't I let your friend go, and we can all pretend this never happened."

"Let him go? You mean Golden is still alive?" Jonas jumped in before Clara could say anything impulsive and reckless.

George flinched. "Yes, he's alive. I was instructed to drug and capture four people and bring them to the organization. It's been implied that I might also have to kill you, but I'm not entirely sure."

"Why?" She frowned, putting the gun down on the coffee table next to her.

He glared. "I've said this before: I don't know. They don't tell me much."

George glanced down as Asura's phone went off. "Huh. It's that one kid," he commented, typing in a response.
