"Shouldn't be too long… he typically scarfs it down. I can ask about having him as a pet while I'm there as well."
"Shouldn't be too long… he typically scarfs it down. I can ask about having him as a pet while I'm there as well."
"Alright!" he replied happily, still petting the adorable little thing.
(Lloyd and Ellis being pet "parents" together bc of this puppy)
(Yesss)
After the ten minutes was up, Lloyd reluctantly took the puppy from Ellis so it could go eat.
Ellis pouted dramatically. "You're taking my baby." he complained.
"I'm sorry." Lloyd called back on his way out, laughing. "I'll be back soon!"
Ellis laughed a little, mouth pulling up in a smile. "You better!"
"I will!" Lloyd went down the hall with the puppy and started talking to the trainers.
Ellis kept petting the adult dog, who was still curled up beside him.
Kouru rested his head on Ellis's chest and went back to sleep, seeming content.
Ellis kept petting him, smiling softly.
Around twenty minutes later, Lloyd returned. "Hey."
Ellis looked up, greeting him with a smile. "Hi."
Lloyd pushed open the door a little more and the puppy scampered in behind him. "I convinced them to let me keep him!"
He grinned, reaching down to pet the pup as it scampered over. "Yay!"
Lloyd grinned in reply and lifted the puppy up to the cot.
Ellis reached over to pet the little dog, smiling happily.
"Now I gotta think of a name for him, though… and his siblings, because like I said, there's usually a theme."
He nodded a little bit. "What kind of themes do you usually do?" He asked, smiling as the puppy licked at him.
"Eh, we see a lot of Latin names… Julius, Brutus, Marcus, the like. Aurelia and Maria and stuff for girls."
He nodded a little bit. "Ah, alright."
"But we also do Renaissance painters and other influential people. Like… Michelangelo. Picasso. Marie. The like."
He nodded again, thinking about that. "So, classic names from human history?"
"Generally, yeah. Names with some sort of meaning as opposed to 'Fluffy' or something."
He laughed. "Makes sense."
"Mm… could name him Pieter, but I'm not sure it fits him."
"Nah, this boy doesn't look like a Pieter."
Lloyd pet the puppy gently while he thought. "I don't know… sometimes the names just sort of happen on their own."
He nodded, petting the puppy. "Yeah. I don't know." He replied.
Lloyd sat down on the edge of the cot and ruffled the puppy's fur. "I'm sure we'll think of something."
"Eventually. Hmm. Maybe Achilles? Like the ancient Greek hero?" He raised his eyebrows slightly.
