(What’s it about)
(What’s it about)
(basically Cas and one of my other characters meeting and Cas offering to heal his mom's cancer)
(Aww cool, Cas is the best)
(yeah, he basically adopts a half demon kid because the kid's been praying to angels about his mom for years but they want nothing to do with him. so he uses his whole 'supposedly an angel' reputation among humans to show up and help the kid)
(Aw lmao what a good feathery wiggle worm)
(yeah lol. if you want you can beta read it when I'm finished. I kinda need someone to proofread it before I post it anywhere lol)
(I’m totally down for that)
(ME TOO!!)
(ok lol. I should have it done in maybe a day or two depending on my schedule. but fair warning my writing style is kinda weird and occasionally hard to follow)
(It’s all good, I’m sure it’ll turn out great)
(thanks lol)
(Oof I’m bored so I’m just going to post to this to start something back up lol)
Lucy woke from her sleep, sitting up quickly. She must have drifted off again. She rubbed at the back of her neck, a stinging feeling coursing through the skin. Carefully so she wouldn’t wake anyone, she stood up and grabbed her satchel, making her way out of the room quietly and to a bathroom down the hall.
She shut the door and looked at herself, hands resting against the sink. Her dark circles weren’t as noticeable from the amount of sleep she had gotten, but her hair looked messy and there was a bit of dirt on her skin from the previous fight. She reached over and locked the door before peeling the old bandages from the back of her neck. She did her best to look at the gashes. They had started to close up, but they were beginning to bleed again.
She gave a slow exhale and turned the shower water on, just to wash off quickly. Once she was under the water, she hissed sharply when it hit the back of her neck. She quickly washed herself off before getting out. She dug through her bag and took out a change of clothes, throwing them on. Wet strands of hair stuck to the sides of her face as she took the spellbook, a vial of golden liquid, and a pocket knife from her bag as well. Turning to a certain black colored page, she softly read the incantation to herself while slicing open her palm and letting the blood drip into the liquid. After a moment, she washed her hand clean and brought the vial to her lips, tipping it back as she swallowed the terrible tasting substance. But the effects worked quick, she could feel the gashes on her neck sealing together.
Afterwards, she stepped out of the bathroom, feeling much better as she dried her hair off with a small towel.
(I'm bored too lol) The sound of a door opening woke Cas up, the creature sitting up and shifting out of the pile. He was sore, and there were still patches of blackened wood and skin on his body. He slithered over to the kitchen table, skin and wood crackling as he shifted to his human form. This time he was in a faded and ripped green tank top and black sweatpants, bare feet padding against the kitchen table as he slid into a chair. He pressed his cheek to the cold wooden table, the temperature helping to soothe what had translated as a nasty sunburn that covered a good portion of the right side of his face. The bandages across his eyes shifted a little, and a stray feather fluttered out of his hair and down to the ground. He glanced over at Sam, thinking as he moved as much as the burns he was covered in onto the table as he could. Maybe Sam should go back to Molhaven. It was his duty to protect his city, was what he told himself. But deep down, he knew he just wanted Sam to leave. He didn't want to leave the others, there was healing to be done. But Sam had hurt him. And if he was being honest, now that he had his soul back he was just a little scared of the guardian
Lucy heard a bit of movement in the living room, and she walked back in, glancing at the others. But someone was gone. Cas? She set her satchel down next to the couch and stepped into the kitchen once she noticed him at the table.
“Cas?” She asked softly, walking over to the table and sitting down. He seemed to be beaten up pretty bad. She wondered why he wasn’t healing himself. Maybe he couldn’t?
Cas made a noise of acknowledgement, not bothering to pretend to look up. He didn't even use eyes to see, so he didn't see a point in moving. He moved so that he could get more of his upper torso on the table, the cold helping soothe his myriad of burns. "Can I have coffee?" he asked tiredly. "I don't think I can move right now."
“Of course, I’ll go make some,” Lucy said, giving Cas’ shoulder a gentle, comforting rub before she got up. She walked to the counter and began making a pot of coffee. She wished that she could help Cas feel better, but she wasn’t sure how. He seemed badly burnt, maybe some aloe would help with the pain.
She finished making the coffee and poured some of the hot drink into a mug. “Do you want anything in it?” She asked, her tone still soft so she wouldn’t wake the others.
"A lot of creamer, please," he muttered, his arms loosing the odd feather here and there as he moved. Several patches on his arms appeared to have been burned away, revealing wooden skin and dried blue-black blood. He didn't have enough energy to fully shift, but being small like this made it easier to get more of himself on the cold surface of the table
Lucy poured creamer into the coffee before mixing it with a spoon. She washed the spoon off in the sink afterwards and brought the mug back over, setting it down next to Cas. She sat down and watched him for a moment with a faint frown. “Do you want me to get you something for those burns? They look like they hurt,” she said, crossing one leg over the other.
"You can try. I don't think it'll work," he said quietly, moving to take a sip of his coffee. "Part of my curse. I can't heal myself, and no one can heal me without dark magic. And quite frankly I'd prefer that sort of magic to stay far away from me."
“I don’t think I’d be able to heal you, then, but I was thinking more along the lines of soothing a bit of the pain. I’ve had my fair share of burns, and aloe plants help to provide a cool feeling,” Lucy explained, leaning forward with her elbows against the tabletop.
"Do what you think would help," Cas said, wincing as his burnt side brushed the table
Lucy pushed up from her chair and left the room, coming back a moment later with a small tin container of aloe. She sat in a chair next to Cas, inspecting the burns that she could see. “I need you to look at me so I can put a bit of this on your face,” she said.
(If I vanish soon then I’m sorryyy)
(it's cool, I probably gotta go for a bit soon lol) Cas turned to her, moving the bandages across his eyes up to reveal that the burn on his face actually covered most of his cheek and a good portion of the space around his right eye. His eyes were totally black, and seemed somehow empty despite the presence of…something in the empty sockets
Orion sat up sleepily, and ran a paw over his face. Padding into the kitchen, he launched himself onto the table, sitting next to Cas's face. Peering at him, Orion raised a single paw, and ever so slowly, bapped Cas on the nose. After this he scurried to the end of the table.
Lucy got a bit of aloe on her finger tips and began to gently apply it to the burns on Cas’ face. Upon seeing the movement of the cat, she looked over and smiled. “Morning, Orion,” she greeted before looking back at Cas. After a moment, she had spread the cool substance across the burns on his face. “Anywhere else?”
(Idk why that was as hilariously adorable as I found it) Cas chuckled, reaching across the table to grab Orion and gently place him in his lap. He started petting Orion, smiling softly. “The biggest spot is on my side and back,” he said, pointing to his right side
“Alright,” Lucy said. She scooted her chair so she was more behind him than before and lifted the back of his shirt. She got a bit more aloe on his hand and applied it to the large burns, doing her best to be as gentle as she could manage.
Cas winced a little at Lucy's touch, leaning forward so it was easier for her to get to his side. The burn was large, and in the very worst spot towards the top of his back the skin had been totally seared away to show wood instead of muscle. The wood on his back had a different pattern, with what looked like keyholes swirled into the grain
As Lucy worked her way across the burns, she paused to look at the gaping hole in Cas’ skin. There was nothing she could do about that, there was no burnt skin to put aloe on. She was unsure if Cas wanted her to touch the textured wood, anyways. She got a bit more aloe on her hand and rubbed it onto his side now. Eventually, she let his shirt drop back down and wiped her hands off on a small cloth that was sitting in her lap. “That should at least help with the pain.”
