(copied from the venting space a few hours ago)
The year was 2019. We had just arrived at my grandma’s house after a long, tiring night of trick-or-treating, and were happily digging through our buckets to see what we obtained on our journey.
When all of a sudden, Emma, that precious little bean, jumps up all excited. Lo and behold, in her basket, among all the tootsie rolls and kit-kats, she had struck gold. A chocolate chip granola bar, the kind you get in bulk 60-piece boxes at your local Costco, was carefully placed in the middle of her basket.
With joy in her eyes, she ran to inform her mother of the discovery, for despite having one of those things with every meal for the past three months, this was the greatest thing she’d seen in her life.
While everyone else commented about all the peanut butter cups and three musketeers, she couldn’t care less. Nothing else in that basket meant anything. She got a granola bar, and that’s all that mattered.

Emma: “EW THE MULCH SMELLS LIKE PORCUPINE”

Me: “it does not smell like porcupine-“

Emma: “YES IT DOES, IT SMELLS LIKE YUCKY PORCUPINE”

Me: “You have never smelled a porcupine”

Emma: “YES I DID, WHEN I WAS A TINY BABY”

According to Wikipedia,

"The North American porcupine has a strong odor to warn away predators, which it can increase when agitated. The smell has been described as similar to strong human body odor, goats, or some cheeses."

Emma what does a porcupine smell like?

I tried to interview her and the conversation went like this:

Me: holding bubble wand like a microphone Hey Squishy, can I ask you a question?
Emma: Yes.
Me: What does a porcupine smell like? For science.
Emma: Disgustingness.
Me: And can you elaborate on that?
Emma: Yes.
Me: I mean, can you describe it in more detail?
Emma: Yes.
Me: So do it.
Emma: Yes.
Me: What exactly does a porcupine smell like?
Emma: Disgusting.
Me: Anything other than disgusting?
Emma: Yucky.
Me: Ok thank you for your educated contribution, you can go back to playing now-
Emma: Yes.
