Ellis flinched a little bit at the unexpected touch. "I, uhm…I tripped." He lied. "Hurt myself. It's fine." His eyes darted away, and he chewed on his lip a little.
Ellis flinched a little bit at the unexpected touch. "I, uhm…I tripped." He lied. "Hurt myself. It's fine." His eyes darted away, and he chewed on his lip a little.
Lloyd quickly pulled his hand away when Ellis winced. "Sorry! Sorry, didn't mean to hurt you. Where did you fall?"
He shrugged a little. "It's fine. Uhm, just on the stairs." He waved a hand vaguely.
Lloyd nodded. "Be careful, will you? I wouldn't want you to get hurt." He said softly.
Ellis's smile turned a bit bitter. Too late for that. "I'll be fine."
"Alright… let me know if you need anything, will you?" Lloyd walked off, still limping heavily and wincing with every step.
Ellis frowned a little. "I will… your highness, you need your crutches."
"I'll be fine, Ellis… just stretching out my muscles. Don't worry about me." Lloyd smiled weakly and kept going.
"Your highness, please, you should use crutches or you'll injure yourself worse."
"But if I don't use the leg at all, it'll just grow weak, won't it?" Lloyd leaned against the wall weakly, panting a bit.
"I don't know. But you need to give it a rest and use crutches."
Lloyd sighed, still leaning against the wall. "I can… I can just deal with the pain… I've felt worse."
Ellis came over to him. "And?"
"And if I can't handle something like this that isn't all that bad, that makes me weak. Pathetic."
Ellis frowned. "That's not it." he replied. "Really."
Lloyd was noticeably breathing more heavily now. "I'm… I'm fine, Ellis. It hardly hurts anyways…"
Ellis shook his head. "Lloyd. Get your crutches."
"Well, I'm going to have to walk back to get them anyways, so what's the point?" Lloyd sighed.
Ellis sighed. "Fuck– just sit down, and I'll bring them to you."
Lloyd sighed and sat down slowly. "Fine… fine…"
He nodded slightly, and headed to the prince's room. He found the crutches, and came back.
Lloyd was still sitting quietly on the ground when Ellis returned, seeming mildly annoyed, but otherwise alright.
Ellis crouched, holding out the crutches.
"Thanks, Ellis…" Lloyd sighed again and accepted the crutches, carefully hoisting himself back up onto his feet.
Ellis nodded. "Of course." He replied.
Lloyd took a few seconds to gather himself before looking up at Ellis again. "Sorry I'm such a dumbass…"
Ellis shrugged. "It's fine."
"I just really hate the crutches…" He sighed.
"I know, I know. But you'll heal up." Ellis replied with another shrug.
Lloyd nodded. "I don't even remember where I was going…" He laughed weakly. "Just didn't want to be stuck in my room anymore…"
