He smiled faintly and held her close, feeling warmer than when he left the house.

"Did your powers weaken" she said

”I… I don't think so.” he said slowly, looking at one of his hands.

" when I held your hand it was freezing cold when I hug you you warmed up" she said

”Well… I think my power is somewhat reactive to how I feel.” he offered as an explanation. ”I admit I was feeling a little… discouraged earlier but after we talked and when you hugged me, I do feel a lot better now.” he smiled gently at her.

She smiled " I feel you are the most powerful vampire of this day and age"

He smiled shyly and shook his head. ”If it were possible, I’d be bright red from that compliment.” he told her.

"I'm not joking I'm dead serious you have so much power " she said

He raised a brow slightly at her statement. ”Really? I mean, controlling fire isn't that rare for vampires, just less practiced.” he said, a little clueless. ”And, actually, since Evan is the King; he’s actually the most powerful.”

" but I'm not just because I'm a hybrid doesn't make me powerful" she said
