He nodded a little bit. "Yeah. I…thanks, your highness." He replied, shooting him a quick smile.
He nodded a little bit. "Yeah. I…thanks, your highness." He replied, shooting him a quick smile.
"No problem." Lloyd looked out the window again and sighed. "I rather enjoy your company. I'd hate if something happened to you."
Ellis smiled a little bit. "Well. I should be fine." He said. As long as I don't piss Anton off too much.
Lloyd nodded and was quiet for a bit. "How are you enjoying the textbooks?" He asked.
"Oh! Those are great." He said with a grin. "Thank you so much for them." He looked over at Lloyd happily.
"No problem, Ellis." Lucas smiled happily. "I'm glad you're enjoying them. They're a lot more exciting the first time you read them."
Ellis ducked his head a little bit. "Well yeah, but…I never got the chance to do any college or anything, so…this is probably the closest to it that I'll ever get."
"If you ever need help with anything, let me know, alright?" Lloyd looked back over at Ellis. "I know every word of those books."
"I'll let you know. Thank you, your highness." Ellis said, shooting Lloyd a soft smile.
"No problem." Lloyd returned the smile and looked back out the window. "Some parts of the chemistry book can be confusing. But let's talk about something else."
He nodded a little bit. "Yeah, alright." he took a deep breath, letting it out again slowly. "What are we going to talk about?"
Lloyd shrugged. "I dunno. Small talk isn't my thing. Any ideas?"
He laughed softly, smiling. "Uhm…no?"
"Hmm…" Lloyd considered for a few seconds. "What's your… favorite kind of weather?"
"Rainy. Not like…storming super hard, but just a decent rain? It's great to fall asleep to." Ellis replied.
Lloyd nodded. "Me as well… I mean, if I'm inside, that is. Flying in the rain is very unpleasant…"
He nodded slightly. "Yeah." he replied with a soft little smile.
"I almost got struck by lightning when I was a kid, actually." Lloyd laughed. "I was terrified. Wouldn't leave my room for a week, or the ground for a month."
His eyes widened. "Oh. Yeah." he said slowly.
"Thunderstorms are the worst to be out in… Nathaniel dealt with something similar. Pretty sure he was back out within a few days, though." He laughed.
He nodded a little bit. "Right."
"Yeah… Nathaniel is a bit more reckless than I am, believe it or not." He hummed thoughtfully.
"Oh, I can believe it." he replied with a grin.
"You'd probably think he's a dumbass too." Lloyd laughed. "The kid just doesn't know when to quit."
"Nah, Nathaniel is too young to be a dumbass." he replied, shaking his head.
"Well, believe me. He's gonna be a bigger dumbass than me when he's my age." He looked over at Ellis, grinning. "He's got almost no responsibilities and his whole life ahead of him."
"Well yes, but maybe he'll grow out of it." he shrugged slightly. "I guess we'll have to see."
"I'll try to bring him up right. Our parents have pretty much given up on him." Lloyd sighed. "Since he hurt his wings, they just forgot about him pretty much."
He nodded a little bit. "Yeah."
"I wish they'd give him a little more attention… that's part of why he gets hurt all the time. He grows reckless and desperate and he gets a little attention when he's injured at least. I try to spend as much time with him as possible, but I don't always get to choose my schedule."
