Ellis led Lloyd over to the bed, then went over to open the window. "There."
Ellis led Lloyd over to the bed, then went over to open the window. "There."
Lloyd huffed indignantly, sitting cross legged on his bed while he watched Ellis open the window. "When can I go outside?"
(gtg soon sorry)
Ellis looked at him. "When you heal, or when you use crutches." he replied, coming back over to Lloyd.
(Np)
Lloyd sighed. "But the crutches are so humiliating…" He fidgeted with his wings a bit.
"Well, it's either use crutches or be bedridden, your highness." he replied.
"Being injured is not very fun… I would not recommend it." He lay back on his bed and stared at the ceiling.
"Yes, I know." Ellis said, not sure if he should sit down or not.
"At least I tend to heal faster than humans… I'm going to go crazy stuck in here. For some reason, this is different than when I'm normally stuck in here all day."
"Just use crutches. For god's sake, you were shot." Ellis replied, shaking his head at Lloyd.
"I'm so weak… I can't believe I let my guard down enough to get shot. To get shot twice, no less." Lloyd sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Lloyd, it isn't your fault." Ellis said, shaking his head again. "You aren't weak."
"I'm supposed to be some war hero or something and I can't even take a couple shots. I'm pathetic."
He rolled his eyes. "Wah." he shook his head again. "What's pathetic is all this whining about it."
Lloyd flushed a bit and stared down at his bed. "I just feel so weak…" He whispered. "I hate it. I can't even walk without collapsing right now."
Ellis sighed softly, rubbing his face. "That's what crutches are for, your highness. You aren't weak, alright?"
Lloyd glanced up at Ellis meekly, still seeming frustrated and upset with himself. "I don't know what it is about this, but I just feel so… bad. Like it's my fault that I got shot and I'm immobilized now. And… and that my father's going to be furious with me for ruining our public image by humiliating myself like this. I can't leave the palace with crutches or a wheelchair or something. For whatever reason, it feels humiliating."
"It isn't your fault you got shot." Ellis said, cautiously sitting down on the edge of the bed. "You're going to be fine, okay?"
Lloyd hesitated before nodding stiffly, but he kept his gaze firmly on his bed. "I… I don't want him to be angry with me. I've seen it firsthand a few times, and the aftermath with Nathaniel more times than I can count."
Ellis took a deep breath at that. "I get that. But…if you keep walking without a crutch or something, you're going to injure yourself worse."
Lloyd nodded again. His wings had subconsciously curled up around him to shield him a bit. "I know, I know… I don't know why it's so difficult for me, but it is…"
(i got a pfp now!)
Ellis nodded slightly. "Yeah. I get that, Lloyd. Just…you'll heal, I promise."
(Nice!)
He sighed and nodded once more, glancing out the window. Being cooped up in here just made him want to go out more. "Hopefully sooner rather than later…"
(thanks! it only took me like two years lol)
Ellis nodded a little bit. "I'm sure it won't take too long." he replied, looking at the prince.
(Lmao yeah)
Lloyd was quiet for a bit. "What's it like?" He asked softly. "Growing up somewhere else, that is… he opportunity to be what you wanna be?"
(fuck, having a pfp is tripping me out bc im so used to not having one. I keep going "who's that with my username" "oh wait that's me" lmao)
Ellis let out a dry, slightly bitter laugh. "I wouldn't know." he replied, shaking his head and looking at his hands.
(Lmao)
"Mm… what's it like living somewhere other than this place, then? I feel like I don't get to talk to people as much as I'd like to…"
He shrugged his shoulders. "It's…I don't know. Different?" he shook his head.
"Different how?" Lloyd asked, looking over at Ellis curiously with his head cocked slightly to the side.
"Well, the buildings are smaller, and…I don't know. There are just different things to worry about and stuff."
Lloyd nodded a bit. "What sort of things do you have to worry about opposed to what I worry about?"
