Bucky nodded a little. "Right. Alright." He replied, running his fingers through his hair and trying to distract himself.
Bucky nodded a little. "Right. Alright." He replied, running his fingers through his hair and trying to distract himself.
Steve let out a breath, nodding slightly. We'll figure it out. We have to, He reminded himself, trying to ignore a hint of doubt within his optimism. "Whatever it is you decide to do– therapy or not, I'm gonna support you."
Bucky smiled faintly. "Thanks." He replied, looking over at Steve, his blue eyes careful but trusting.
Steve swallowed, smiling back. "Of course," He said with a nod and a faint laugh, "It's you n' me against the world, right?"
"To the end of the line." Bucky replied with another faint little smile. He remembered more about what those words meant, now.
Steve could even try to hide the smile that spread onto his face at Bucky's words. "Yeah," He said, nodding slowly, "Yeah, to…to the end of the line. We've got this."
Bucky smiled a little as he looked over at Steve. At his friend. Or whatever they were now.
Steve smiled at Bucky, though his gaze floated past him at the sight of the sun drifting closer to the horizon, the clouds just hinting at a note of pale purple. "Still up for the Ferris wheel?" He asked after a moment, smiling as he glanced at the illuminated circle in the distance with only a few people in line.
Bucky blinked. "Hmm? Oh. Yeah. If you can handle the height." he replied, getting up and throwing away his trash, and then coming back over. "Let's do it."
(mmm they should kiss at the top-)
Steve let out a laugh, nodding as he stood and threw away his trash. "I can handle it," He said shooting Bucky a shy smile, "With you there, I can."
(mhmmm)
Bucky smiled at him, nodding a little. "Let's go, then." he replied, gesturing to the ferris wheel and starting to walk towards it.
Steve nodded, looking around and smiling at the twinkling lights of the amusement park as they walked toward the ride. He could almost hear the muffled sounds of their younger selves laughing while swing music played as they got in line.
Bucky was quiet, looking around and wishing he remembered more of their previous visits to this place, because he knew so very little of them.
Steve paid the fare for the Ferris wheel, opening the little door and holding a hand out in front of him. "After you," He said to Bucky with a cheeky smile, earning a chuckle from the ride operator.
Bucky squinted at him for a moment, then climbed into the seat and gesturing to Steve. "Your turn." He replied.
Steve climbed into the seat, shutting the little door behind him. He let out a soft breath, smiling over at Bucky as they slowly moved up.
Bucky smiled back, looking out the ferris wheel after a moment to watch as the fround began to move away from them.
"Hey," Steve softly said, turning to smile at Bucky as they stopped a little under halfway to the top. "I'm really glad you're here– or, we're here…together," He said a little shyly.
Bucky smiled faintly at that, and nodded, looking over at Steve. "Yeah. Me too." he replied, taking a deep breath.
"Yeah– I just…did'tt know if this was too much or too soon," Steve said with a nervous laugh, smiling as he looked from the rosy coloured clouds to Bucky, "But…we're here, this sky is breathtaking and…so are you."
Bucky smiled as well. "Yeah, I–" and then he heard the last part and bit his lip. "Oh. I…" He didn't know how to respond.
"Was that…too forward?" Steve said with a bashful laugh, his gaze flickering down to Bucky's lips for a moment. I know what else would be forward.
"I, uhm. I don't know." Bucky replied with a faint, embarrassed laugh, eyes flashing over Steve's face, lingering on his mouth before he pulled his eyes away again.
Steve smiled, looking at the sweet-coloured sky as they moved a little farther up. He glanced at Bucky, trying not to bite his lip at the sight of how his long hair framed his face, "Well, it's true, anyway."
Bucky shrugged a little, turning his face a way a little, strands of hair falling in front of his eyes. "I– don't know about that, but…"
"You don't believe me?" Steve said with a faint smile, tilting his head to the side, "Well, younger Steve thought so too."
Bucky blinked. "I…don't remember that." But then, he didn't remember much anyways, sinit didn't matter.
"Oh– I wouldn't've told you that, back then," Steve said with a shy laugh, remembering the way he used to feel when Bucky grinned and threw his head back in laughter, "Though I wish I had."
He nodded a little bit. "Right. That's right. I…forgot." he replied slowly, looking at Steve and taking a deep breath.
"But…I don't think I should linger on all the things I didn't say or do," Steve said, smiling softly at him, glancing at his lips, "Cause now I can say and do those things, without fear or…uncertainty."
