Lynx reluctantly pulled away. "I have to go. We'll work on getting you out, dumbass." he kissed Fox's forehead, slipping out of the cell and shaking his head. Fox nodded, watching him go with a slightly forlorn look on his face.

Elissa finally snapped back to reality, watching Lynx leave. Well, at least he had been allowed to talk to Fox, so that was good for him, right? But what did she care? She was just a lonely little girl trapped in the belly of a beast.
Fox let out a breath as the door closed, sitting down and closing his eyes, shaking his head a little bit.
Elissa sighed, still unsure whether she was angry or sad. She didn’t know why she thought keeping a thin sliver of the mask of control even mattered anymore. It wasn’t as if there was anything she could do.
Fox glanced over at her for a moment, shaking his head slightly, then closed his eyes, tilting his head to the ceiling.
“What happened?” Elissa asked after a moment. She might as well try and understand the powers at play here.
"Um. Be specific, and I can answer that." Fox replied, opening his eyes to look over at her.
“Specific? Okay, then,” Elissa responded. “What did Wolf tell him?”
"Basically that I can't be allowed out for…a good while." he replied.
“Oh,” Elissa responded. “So it seems we’re stuck here together for a while, then.”
He laughed a little bit, slightly bitter. "Yeah, we are. And I still don't know why the fuck Dmitri thought it was a good idea to bring you."
“I don’t know why either, to be completely honest,” Elissa added, scrunching her eyebrows in confusion. “Have you guys ever kidnapped someone before, or am I the first one to have the honor?”
"Ehhhh…" he rubbed the back of his neck. "You're hardly the first, just the first with– no offense –with no real value." he replied, wrinkling his nose a little. "We can't really ransom you, we can't use you to press an advantage, we can't do…anything with you."
"Then why kidnap me?" Elissa asked, not caring about the value comment. Okay, not caring about it much. "What's the point, if you can't do anything with me?"
"I don't know!" Fox replied, shaking his head. "That was all Dmitri's choice, not mine." he ran a hand through his hair.
Elissa sighed, twirling a lock of hair around her finger. “Maybe he has something in mind,” she muttered. “Though I can’t imagine what. Any chance he suddenly developed a heart and couldn’t bear to kill an innocent girl?”
Fox snorted. "What, the Wolf, have a heart? No." he replied, shaking his head and seeming amused by the idea. "More likely, you caught his interest in some way."
Elissa’s stomach lurched, unsure she wanted to know the answer as she asked, “And what way do you think I caught his interest?” Any response seemed bad, from wanting to recruit to to using her as an example to wanting her merely because she was pretty.
Fox blinked. "Well, you put up a good fight, so that'd be why. Don't worry though, he isn't really the type to do anything to you. Not…well, not sex, if that's what you're worried about."
Elissa pursed her lips. “Well, I guess that’s a relief, though I can’t say that being here for any reason would be good,” she admitted. “So what do you think is going to happen to me?”
Fox shrugged slightly. "I have no idea, honestly." he replied. "I really don't."
Elissa sighed. “So I guess all that we can do now is wait,” she replied, staring out of the cell window.
"Yeah, pretty much." Fox replied with a shrug. "That's really all I know how to do."
That and kill people, Elissa thought darkly, staring off into the distance. “Mmm,” she muttered out loud.
Fox sighed, leaning back in his seat. "So now we wait." he said with another shrug.
Elissa nodded. “So now we wait,” she repeated, thinking about her father. He surely would be calling the police by now, though Elissa doubted that would do her any good.
Fox nodded. "Mhm. And hey, if you're lucky, he might let you go home eventually."
“You really think so?” Elissa asked dubiously. “What if I tell someone about this? Or is everyone just too afraid of you guys to even try to hunt you down?”
He let out a laugh. "Uhm. Well. The police can't touch us, so…" he shrugged.
“I figured,” Elissa said with a shrug. “I was thinking more of like another gang or something.”
