Phoenix himself groaned, before resting his forehead on the steering wheel. "What a spectacular way to end a night…" He muttered, feeling more and more like an idiot.

"I'm such an idiot," Cicada muttered to herself looking up at the roof of her car. She let out another long sigh before she started up the car and looked to just go back to her dorm. She needed to be alone at the moment.
(Do we wanna timeskip, or did you want to continue to write on? I don't care either way.)
(We can skip.)
(M'kay, any idea when to?)
(…No idea? Sorry writing an essay and that's taking a lot of my brain power.)
(That's fine! I'll just write something up… and I apologize for disappearing.)
(You're fine! Thanks.)
Phoenix had woken up at his desk, halfway through his homework. His phone was buzzing, the reason for him waking up. With a heavy groan, he gathered his homework into a bag so he could carry it down to get something to wake him up first before finishing. He only had an hour or so before classes started, not giving him much time to finish. Phoenix quickly changed, and pulled on his shoes before quietly sneaking out of the dorm to not wake his roommates. They didn't need to be up anyways.
Cicada hadn't fallen asleep. She had laid awake staring at the ceiling for what felt like an eternity, at least until her alarm went off. She let out a long sigh and started getting ready for the day. Her bag was packed and ready to go all she needed to do was get dressed and then go. There was still an hour before class started so she had plenty of time with no homework to worry about.
Phoenix made his way down to the main building to get a cup of coffee. His roommates (rather annoyingly) hated coffee, and refused to let him keep anything of the sort in the dorm. So he had to go and get some somewhere else. Pulling out his phone, he shot a simple text to Cicada with a light smile. 'When did you go to bed?'
Cicada felt her phone buzz and pulled it out. She yawned a little as she poured herself a cup of coffee in her dorm room. She slung her bag over her shoulder as she smiled sending a message back to him, 'What do you mean go to bed? Because I went to bed, just didn't sleep.'
'Oh lovely, we can be tired together.' He sent as a joke, trying to focus on both things at one time. 'Need me to get you coffee/breakfast while I'm getting my own?'
'I've got my own coffee, but food would be nice,' Cicada messaged him back. A little smile appeared on her face seeing his message in return, 'I'll pay you back if yo do get me anything.'
Phoenix smiled, walking out to his car coffee in his other hand. 'Pish posh, no need to. I've got it covered… though if you're set on paying, you can pay for gas.' With a nod, he sent the message before ducking in to his car.
'I will gladly pay for gas,' Cicada sent the message back before leaving her dorm room. She took a sip of her coffee silently sighing as it just wasn't as good as the ones you had to pay money for.
Glancing at the message, he smiled softly. 'Great, now don't offer to pay for anything else for the next month.' He sent back, before driving off to a bakery down the street.
Cicada looked at the message and her mind sort of broke for a moment. She started typing a reply, before deleting it and then typing another one up before deleting that one too. She eventually got a message typed up and sent it off, 'But… But… I can't just not offer to pay?'
Phoenix heard the buzz of his phone, but didn't reply until he pulled up to the shop. 'Why not? It can't possibly be too hard.' He retorted, a smirk creeping up on his lips as he entered the shop.
'I. Yes? It's very difficult?' Cicada responded still slightly dumbfounded as she leaned against a nearby wall. She took a sip of her coffee before setting it on the ground, 'It's like asking me not to eat or breath for a month.'
'Alright, fine. You can offer, but you're not allowed to.' Phoenix replied, the smirk fully resting on his lips by now. Of course, people gave him odd and alarmed looks, but he didn't let it bother him. 'What do you want? Muffin, bagel?' He added in, hoping she wouldn't respond to the previous message.
'Muffin, please. You can pick the type, I don't care,' Cicada sent him back letting out a slight sigh of relief. She picked up her cup of coffee again and took another sip. She was fine with not being able to, but not offering just felt wrong.
'Not allergic to anything, are you?' Phoenix asked, glancing down the menu trying to decide for himself. 'Probably just get a bagel… nothing fancy.' He told himself, waiting for her reply.
'Haven't found anything yet,' Cicada responded a slight smile on her face at the silly response. It was kind of stupid, but it was a good kind of stupid.
He felt his phone buzz, glancing down with a slight smile. 'Well, let's hope I don't find the first.' Tucking his phone into his pocket, he went up and ordered their food with a light smile.
Cicada let out a laugh at his response. She continued walking on campus before finding some discernable spot that they could meet up at. She texted him her location and asked 'Should I start heading to wherever you are and hope we bump somewhere in the middle?'
’There’s no need, I’m right across the street from the campus.’ Phoenix insisted, as he waited for their order of on the side. ’Just stay where you’re at, and I’ll drop off your food.’
'Okay, thanks again' Cicada sent back staying put with a cup of coffee in hand. She let out a sigh and took another sip of the coffee pocketing her phone once more.
’No problem.’ With that dealt with, he heard his name called for his order. Taking the bag, he carried it with him as he headed out, and got in his car. Setting their breakfast aside, he started the car and drove across the street back in campus.
Cicada had a smile on and she stayed there waiting. She looked up to the sky enjoying the earlier morning air and the slight remnants of the sunrise in the air. She yawned again and rubbed at her eyes keeping them open.
