"I guess something like that… I'm not sure I trust myself to be climbing or putting myself in a position where I could be in danger at the moment." Lucas sat down on the grass beside Melissa.
"I guess something like that… I'm not sure I trust myself to be climbing or putting myself in a position where I could be in danger at the moment." Lucas sat down on the grass beside Melissa.
Once he was sitting, she threw her legs over his with a smile. "That makes sense… I've got a feeling we'll probably be down here for awhile." Melissa whispered, scooting up closer.
"Mhmm…" Lucas lay his head on Melissa's and sighed softly, closing his eyes. He seemed to be content for now.
"Do you wanna talk, or just sit here for now?" Melissa asked softly, reaching out to take his hand in her own. "I'm happy with either."
"I think I just wanna sit for now…" Lucas laced his fingers with Melissa's and just enjoyed the gentle breeze in the clearing.
Nodding just a bit, she started to zone out at the quietness. All her thoughts were blank, and had no real meaning behind them. "Works for me…"
Lucas finally had a clear mind now that he was here. He could just enjoy the nice weather and relax and forget about all his worries. Considering his exhaustion and calmness, it didn't take him long to drift off to sleep.
At the sudden weight on her, she snapped out of her thoughts. Noting he was asleep, she let a soft smile spread across her lips. With him asleep, she could go and explore the surrounding area until he awoke. 'I'll wait a few minutes…'
Lucas huddled a little closer to Melissa and smiled softly in his sleep, seeming to be content. His memories were finally leaving him alone and giving him a break.
When he didn't twitch or jump in fear, she slowly began to pull back so she wouldn't disturb him. Lucas needed the sleep, and Melissa didn't want to sit there for the next three hours letting him do so. She was just too fidgety.
Lucas allowed her to pull away, shifting so he was laying up against the trunk of the willow when she'd separated herself from him.
Pulling up completely, she pressed a soft kiss to the top of his head before heading out. Whistling 'We're Off To See The Wizard' the whole time, she continued onward into the brush.
Lucas yawned and remained asleep against the tree, not yet noticing Melissa's absence. He was exhausted and he really needed to sleep.
For a little while, she just walked in circles around their clearing. But slowly she felt more adventures. So she made her way in to a new spot.
(Do we want to skip over a little bit?)
(Sure lol. To when? Lucas is liable to sleep for a while lmao)
(A couple hours later? Melissa could come back and wake him up)
(Sure)
Lucas was still asleep when Melissa returned, but he was stirring a bit and yawning. He was pressing the threshold of consciousness, but hadn't quite crossed it yet.
Coming up to him, she had a small smile on her face. Despite the dirt, she looked alright still. "Lu, come on. You've been asleep for hours." Melissa said, shaking his shoulder a bit.
"Mmmmm…" Lucas whined softly and stirred a bit more before managing to open his eyes. "…Mel?"
"Mhmm, I'm right here." She told him, sitting down across from him. Legs crossed, she sat like a little kid waiting expectantly.
Lucas pulled himself and rubbed at his eyes, blinking in the bright sun. "Mm… how long have I been out?" He asked.
"Two or three hours… I lost track of time." Melissa shrugged a bit, still beaming. "Maybe you've been out longer… I got distracted anyways. So I have no clue."
"Really?" Lucas yawned a bit and looked up at the sky. "Guess it has been a while, hasn't it…? What have you been doing all this time?"
"Oh, just wandering." Melissa hummed, waiting for him to ask her where she had gone. If he didn't she would just tell him.
Lucas nodded a bit. "Anywhere in particular or just around the clearing?" He asked, brushing himself off.
"Around the clearing… though I did find something." Melissa hummed, rather casually at that. Pulling her hair up, she found herself standing up to show him. "You wanna see?"
"Uh… yeah, sure. What did you find?" He asked, pulling himself to his feet in preparation to follow Melissa.
"It's really cool… I found this cavern in the side of the cliff from the waterfall." Melissa told him, taking his hand so she could lead him on. "It took me forever, but I finally found something after walking back and forth over a dozen times."
Lucas laced his fingers with Melissa's and nodded, continuing to brush stray grass off of himself with his free hand. "Is there anything inside?"
