He blinked. "But either way, does that really matter? You still changed my life and…that's not a bad thing. Right?"
He blinked. "But either way, does that really matter? You still changed my life and…that's not a bad thing. Right?"
Jude shook his head lightly, leaning comfortably into the couch, "No, it's not a bad thing. And I guess you're right– it might not even matter, but I still feel like I don't deserve to like, hold that title." He smiled, shaking his head dismissively, "Anyway, I'm glad I was in the wrong place and the right time."
He frowned a little, blinking. "But why wouldn't you deserve that?" he asked, not understanding why Jude kept insisting he didn't deserve these things.
Jude hesitated, wondering why he couldn't explain how it just felt that way; stuck in some type of inferiority complex, even though that he knew it was a significant thing to Nyx. "Because…" He said, his gaze flickering around the room as he thought, "I don't know. Maybe because I didn't do that much?"
"You opened up the pod, and you let me out, and you came back again to help me. You did everything, Jude." Nyx's voice was quiet, but sincere.
Jude swallowed, taking in Nyx's words and watching his expression. "I mean…I did, but–" He shrugged, shaking his head.
Nyx looked at him. "So I don't see the problem." He said quietly, still looking up at Jude.
Jude bit his lip for a moment before he nodded. "There isn't a problem," He said, sighing, that's what confuses me. "Hmph– Maybe I'm just tired or something. There isn't really anything I can do on how I feel about this."
Nyx blinked, then nodded a little bit, and kissed Jude's cheek. "Oh. Okay." He replied with a light smile. "Thanks."
"Mhm," Jude hummed with a smile, running his hand affectionately through Nyx's hair. "How's your head?" He softly asked, pressing a kiss to his cheek in return.
Nyx smiled. "It feels better." He replied, leaning into Jude's touch with a faint little smile on his face.
"Yeah?" Jude smiled, glancing at Macy pawing at the leaf of a houseplant. He nodded, pressing a few more kisses to his cheek, "Hm, that's good, that's good. You hungry at all?"
"Uhm…" he thought for a moment, and shrugged. "I don't know. Kind of, I guess." he smiled at Jude, closing his eyes for a moment.
"Kay, we'll order pizza in a bit, then," Jude said, smiling as he let out a soft sigh, "The day is still getting better, wow."
Nyx nodded a little bit, smiling softly at the thought of trying another new food today, when he had already tried so many. Or at least, it felt like a lot to him.
Jude smiled, reluctantly shifting in his comfortable sea. "Hmm, as much as I'd like to stay like this–" He said, running a hand through Nyx's hair, "We should probably put some of your stuff away, it's still in the hall."
Nyx hummed a little bit. "Oh. Alright." He replied with a little smile, shifting to get up. He kissed Jude's cheek softly as he stood.
Jude smiled, running a hand through his hair as he stood, walking over to the shopping bags. "O-kay," He said, picking up the bags of books, "–I think these could go on an empty shelf in the bedroom, yeah."
Nyx nodded a little bit. "Okay." He replied, picking up the other bags and going back inside to wait for Jude.
Jude followed, setting the bag on the bed as he surveyed the mostly empty top shelf of a bookcase. "There's an empty drawer, there," He said, looking over his shoulder and pointing at his dresser before turning back to the books.
Nyx nodded a little bit, and started putting the clothes in the drawer, pulling tags off and throwing them away as he did.
Jude stowed Nyx's books neatly into the shelf, stepping back to smile at how they looked next to his books, along with a few framed photos and pottery vases.
Nyx finished, looking over at Jude. "I'm done." he said, walking over to Jude and giving him a quick little smile.
"Yeah?" Jude said, glancing at the dresser before looking back to Nyx with a soft smile, "I guess we could call this your…home, now."
Nyx blinked, then smiled happily, but shyly. "I…only if you're okay with that." He replied softly, looking down at his toes for a moment.
"Yeah," Jude said, smiling brightly before realizing how that might seem too enthusiastic of him, "I mean– yeah. I love living with people, it's like my thing. Between roommates and travelling, I haven't really lived alone for long."
Nyx nodded a little, and smiled up at Jude. "Alright." he replied. He wrapped an arm around Jude's waist, leaning his forehead against Jude's shoulder.
Jude smiled, his arms coming up almost reflexively to loop around Nyx's shoulders, sighing happily as he raked a hand through his dark hair.
Nyx leaned into Jude happily, closing his eyes. His head still hurts a little, but not too badly.
Jude smiled as he hugged Nyx, convincing himself, just for a moment, that things might really turn out okay. That between all the cover-ups and keeping him away from RTI, they could really stay together, like this.
