((Aaahhhhhhhh!! So did I kinda forget about Notebook? Maybe. That took a lot longer than I ever thought, I sincerely apologize. I won't be super active still though, at least not as active as I was before the unexpected hiatus. Once again, I'm very sorry about that.))

(Thank you much! :)
Eugene's face dropped slightly. "Ah, I'm sorry about that." He said a little quieter. His mind raced to continue a conversation or to at least change the atmosphere.
Lucas fidgeted uncomfortably. What was he supposed to say? Some stranger just stumbled upon him crying in another stranger's bathroom. The conversation turned to dead family. He was just wildly nervous and unsure what to do.
"Um… well this isn't the most comfortable place to be and I bet some people have started peeing in the backyard. Do you want to maybe go outside or something?" Eugene asked, settling with a totally subject, even scenery change.
"O-Oh, right… yeah, we… should probably do that." Lucas flushed lightly in embarrassment and dragged himself to his feet. He was still somewhat unsteady, but managed to stay upright.
Eugene swiftly sat up and was already at the door. "Okay, just follow me, don't look away for a second or else you'll probably get lost in the crowd." He glanced back at Lucas before opening the door.
"Uh… right. Okay." Definitely not stressful at all. Nope. I'm perfectly fine. Lucas sighed softly and started following Eugene, sticking very close so they wouldn't get separated. "Who the hell has this many friends anyways?"
"That is a very good question," Eugene yelled over the crowd. He kept constantly glancing back to make sure Lucas was right behind him. After a few minutes of pushing through the dense crowd, they made it to the front door. He quickly turned the knob and was instantly rewarded with the fresh night air.
Lucas gripped the doorframe and drew in a wavering breath. He closed his eyes, running his fingers through his hair with his free hand. "Thank God… I've got no clue how he convinced me to come here…"
"Yeah, you don't seem like the party type to me. I mean, I don't seem like the party type to myself either so I'm not 100% sure why I'm here. But whatever." Eugene closed the door behind Lucas and stepped out onto the front yard. There was a decent-sized willow tree, as well as a few rose bushes. Gene went over to the tree and lied down on the grass under it.
Lucas hesitated before going over and sitting beside Eugene, fidgeting nervously. "Y-Yeah… he lied to me and said it was gonna be a small party and that he'd stick with me. Obviously, neither are the case…"
"That's some shit behavior on his part… Do you want me to go and find him? I'm assuming you probably want to go home, yeah?" Eugene asked, turning his head to look over at the other boy.
"Um… I'll probably just walk home, to be honest… he probably forgot about me, anyways. Might've gotten drunk and drove off with some friends." Lucas sighed.
Eugene nodded as best as he could while laying down, taking in Lucas' words. He found it sad how often this happened to people. "Well… how far away is your house? I can give you a ride if you want." As much as Eugene had been invited and asked to stay until the end of the party or help clean up, it wasn't him who threw the party or was responsible for anything. He would rather leave now than stay.
"Really? You… you'd do that?" Lucas asked, genuinely surprised. Clearly he wasn't used to people being nice to him, especially not strangers. "It's not far, really… only about a mile or two away, I think. I don't think it would take long to get there by car."
"Of course I'd do that." Eugene was still looking over, but a bright smile was on his face now. "That's a bit to walk and it always seems like more when it's dark. So of course I'll give you a ride. Do you want to go now?"
"Um… y-yeah, sure. Thank you so much, really." Lucas pulled himself back up onto his feet, resting one hand on the trunk of the tree. "I don't think my friend will mind or notice if I leave, and I really don't wanna be here…"
"Sounds like a plan. I parked around that corner since there were already so many cars and I didn't want to get involved if the police were called." Eugene said with a small chuckle. He too stood up, brushing off any grass or dirt. "Ok, let's get going, what's your address?"
Lucas nodded and told Eugene his address while he followed him to the car. "It's kind of up on a small hill and out of the way. Not a neighborhood or anything… and there's a field of sunflowers next to it. I'll tell you where to turn when we get there."
"Ooo that sounds lovely. Do you ever go and hang out in the sunflowers?" They turned the corner and Eugene's car appeared. He unlocked it and slid into the driver's side.
"I do, yeah. It's really nice in there." Lucas smiled weakly. "You can just sit down and disappear for a while… forget about the world. Er… unless you're allergic to pollen. Then I wouldn't recommend it."
"Oh yeah, that'd be rough. However, I am not so if we continue to be friends, then I'm gonna have to go to that field at some point." Eugene started the car and they were on their way.
Lucas nodded. "Feel free to. Just make sure not to damage them or anything… I mean, they're sunflowers, so they're strong and all… but still. They're important."
Eugene smiled. "I would never damage them, at least not on purpose. I love sunflowers, but at this point, I think everyone does. Is the field yours?"
"Um… well, it's my family's, but I guess it's mine now, yeah. We planted it ourselves when I was little." Lucas fidgeted with his hands a bit. "I still tend to it."
"Oh that sounds wonderful! If you ever need help with it, I'm down to help." Eugene stopped at a red light and waited for it to turn green.
Lucas nodded. "That would be nice, thank you… I'll be sure to get ahold of you if I never need help. It usually doesn't take long since they're mostly self sufficient, but I still like to water them when it's dry."
"Yeah sunflowers are like a super flower. Gotta love them." Eugene smiled to himself. After a couple minutes, he found his way to Lucas' house. "And here we are!"
