He smiled softly back as he picked up Cole and gently lifted Laura-Beth so her head was resting on his shoulder.

She closed her eyes again

He quietly carried the children out of the bedroom and soon tucked them into their own bed.

Laura-Beth rolled over and snuggled against her stuffed animals, while Adrian hadn't let go of the one Betty made for him.

Betty couldn't sleep well not with her husband out of the room

Lysander was currently in the kitchen, getting a the water Betty had asked for before heading back upstairs.

Betty smiled when she saw her husband

Lysander smiled back as he walked over, handing the water to her.

She smiled taking a sip

He sat on the bed near her and just let himself relax, stretching his arms over his head as he laid down.

She leaned above him reaching to put the cup on the nightstand

He chuckled a little and leaned up to kiss her cheek before flopping back down.

She layed back down on her side

He smiled and rolled on to his side to look at his wife.

She brought her knuckles to brush against his cheek

He gently took her hand and kissed her knuckles.

"I love you" she said

”I love you too.” he smiled, still holding her hand.

She laced thier fingers together

He smiled and gently gripped her hand.

"if you were king would you out the kingdom before me?"

He hummed thoughtfully. ”That’s a tough question but… No, I’d like to think that I would put you and the kids first. I don't really like politics and don't think I would make a very good king.” he admitted.

She pulled her hand away " I see resemblance in you and your brother" she said turning away from him

”Hey… hey.” he said softly, pulling her back a little. ”If you meant what happened back at the hotel when you were attacked… I would have given James his wife back the second he asked for her if it meant getting you back.” he told her honestly.

"Don't lie to yourself if you were king and had to choose between me or your people you'd choose your people because they're perfect every royal is the same just a little bit of royalty and you care about your people not the son and daughter you have and currently not the wife who loved you endlessly" she said jerking herself away

”I’m not lying and no royal is perfect. I know I'm not.” he insisted. ”I would choose you and the kids every time. I love you more than the whole world and I’ll always love you.”

"if that were true you wouldn't have to think about it" she said

”I said ”think” because I’ve never been in that kind of position.” he explained. ”You’re the most important piece of my life. You and our children. I've never had to choose something like that before.”

She didn't say a word and closed her eyes

He sighed softly and placed his hand on her shoulder. ”I love you. Your happiness comes first to me.” he told her sincerely.
