He laughed a little bit at that, nodding. "Ah." he could vaguely remember laughing at Steve, grinning as the coaster plummeted down the track.

Steve lingered on the semi-pleasant memory of that day, smiling and biting his lip as he looked over the drawing; the faint outlines of people lounging on the beach, and the couples dotting the sidewalk in front of the rides. He laughed, "Okay, so maybe I was afraid of heights. Hah. But that drop was–" Steve smiled, shaking his head.
"Ah, so you're blaming it on the roller coaster." Bucky replied, looking at him with a faint smile. "It couldn't possibly just have been you, oh no, it was the roller coaster's fault."
"It was," Steve argued, chuckling as he gestured with his hands, "It was. My stove was pristine, compared to this." He shook his head, smiling, "It was jarring, going down and it would screech when it went up! I swear, I could feel the wood bending under the weight."
(not gonna be too active today + tomorrow; i have a few google meet conference things)
Bucky shook his head a little bit. "I'm sure it was perfectly safe." he replied, looking over at the blond man and shaking his head.
(it's fine!)
Steve smiled. "Apparently so," He said with a shrug, "It's still running to this day. –Obviously it's been repaired since the thirties, but, yeah. Still goin'."
(yeah, sorry. they're assigning a lot of the 'final assignments' for the end of this term)
He laughed just a little bit. "Huh. Maybe we should go on it again, then." he replied, raising his eyebrows at Steve slightly.
(it's fine, don't worry about it)
Steve's eyes lit up and he smiled softly, trying not to show too much excitement over that. "Yeah," He said, nodding and looking back at him with bright eyes, not even thinking about if he'd still be as scared. Nah, He told himself, I'm over that thing. "Maybe we should. A bit of thrill sounds good to me."
Bucky smiled a little bit again, looking over at his…friend? What were they now? Were they still just friends? Or were they something more now? He didn't know.
"So," Steve said, smiling at the thought of them laughing and fooling around at the amusement park, "When do you wanna go? We could go today, but it's busier during the day."
He blinked. "Oh– I don't know." he repleid slowly. "Whenever, I guess." he shrugged his shoulders, shooting Steve a smile.
(coughkissingontopoftheferriswheelcough)
"Hm, sure," Steve said with a faint nod, trying not to ket his gaze linger on Bucky's smile. "What do you think about going there tonight?" He asked with a soft smile, realizing that he was essentially asking him out, "I remember the lights are prettier. We could take the train and get Nathan's Hot Dogs for dinner while we're there?"
(yesssssssssssssssss)
Bucky smiled a little bit again. "If you're sure you can trust me in a crowd, then…I think it would be great." He replied, looking over at Steve. Is this a date?
"Yeah," Steve nodded, trying not to grin, "I trust you plenty, remember who you're talkin' to?" He let out a faint laugh, smiling shyly as he shrugged a shoulder, "It's a date."
Bucky narrowed his eyes. "I don't remember much about who I'm talking to, no." But his voice wasn't totally serious, more of messing with Steve. At the blonde's next words, he blinked. "Ah…a date? Or…?"
Steve swallowed, suddenly remembering that Bucky might not want that. "Y- I mean, yeah. A date, I'd like it to be. But no, if that's not what you want I totally get it–" He nodded a little nervously, quietly aware of a faint blush spreading over his cheeks as he tried to appear a little less like his younger, shy self.
Bucky studied Steve carefully for a moment, taking a deep breath. "I…I think…a date would be…" He spoke slowly, weighing the words as he spoke them. "That would be great."
Steve's eyes lit up at that, and he smiled. "Yeah?" He almost laughed, instantly forgetting his past nervousness and moving into his smiling awkwardness, "Oh– well, that's…great. Hm. Alright then."
Bucky smiled, lower lip catching between his teeth. "–yeah." He replied, looking over at Steve a little shyly, laughing a little bit.
Steve nodded once, smiling like he'd won a prize for being the nervous mess that he was. "I'm lookin' forward to it," He admitted with a fond look, "But in the meantime– how about those cinnamon rolls?" Steve suggested with a laugh, "I think there's a recipe lying around somewhere."
Bucky blinked, then nodded. "Oh. Yeah, alright." He replied, standing and stretching. He pulled out a hair tie, tying his hair back in a ponytail so that it wasn't in the way.
Steve put aside his sketchbook and moved towards the kitchen, smiling to himself at the sight of Bucky's little quirk. He went to a small shelf of books and magazines, tilting his head to the side as he read the titles. "Hm," Steve sounded, pulling out the recipe book with folded dog ears and post-it bookmarks.
Bucky came over, looking over Steve's shoulder at the cookbook, a few strands of brown hair that had escaped the ponytail drifting in his face.
Steve idly flipped through the recipe book, looking for the recipe. "Here," He chirped, smiling at the page when found it, "Easy cinnamon rolls." The words sounded foreign in his mind as he thought of food before the war and how as kids, they could only dream of making something like this from scratch.
Bucky smiled a little bit, and nodded. "Alright. Let's make it." he replied, looking over at Steve.
Steve smiled, reading the margin of the page for the ingredient list. "So…for the dough, we need milk, sugar, butter, eggs, yeast, and flour," He said, moving to the fridge. "And some bowls– from that cupboard," Steve said over his shoulder, loosely gesturing at it.
Bucky nodded, and grabbed some bowls, placing them on the counter. "Alright. What else?" he asked, looking at his friend.
Steve carried the ingredients from the photo-covered fridge and onto the counter. "The– flour, and white sugar is in that cupboard," He said, nodding at it before looking down at the recipe again, "And then we need cinnamon and brown sugar, which should be there too."
