"I'm not sure… I want to run the whole time." Melissa laughed weakly, her chest still heaving. "But I can if you want to."
"I'm not sure… I want to run the whole time." Melissa laughed weakly, her chest still heaving. "But I can if you want to."
"No, no. We don't have to run the whole time. I really don't care, Mel."
Giving him a soft smile, she stepped up beside him. "Then maybe we just walk." Melissa hummed, slipping her arm around his waist.
"Alright." Lucas kissed Melissa's cheek softly and started walking into the forest with her. "Which way?"
"I don't care, whatever way you think is best." She hummed, resting her chin on his shoulder. "You've been down this path before, I haven't."
Lucas nodded and led Melissa along. "We should go explore behind our clearing, yeah?" He hummed softly.
"Sounds like a good… did you just call it our clearing?" Melissa asked, taken aback by his words. She really hadn't expected that.
"Well, yeah. Why wouldn't it be?" Lucas asked curiously. "We're the only ones who know about it. As far as I'm concerned, it's ours."
"I…I guess I just wasn't thinking that." She mumbled with a pink glow resting on her cheeks. "It just sounds special when you say it that way. It really is yours."
"Nah ah, not mine." Lucas laced his fingers with Melissa's and smiled softly. "Ours, Melissa."
Giving him a soft smile back, she sighed the same. "Alright, though I feel bad for intruding on your space."
"Don't feel bad. I invited you, Melissa." He kissed Melissa softly and pushed some branches out of their way.
"I- I know…" She sighed weakly, leaning against his arm gently as they walked. "It's just a guilty feeling, I can't get rid of. I'm being kind of ridiculous."
"I'm far more ridiculous in that area than you are, darling." Lucas hummed softly and held a branch out of Melissa's way.
“Mmm, that’s true.” Melissa teased, stepping through the branches. “Thanks Lu,”
"No problem. But yeah, as far as feeling guilty and worrying about absolutely nothing, I am the king."
“Then I could be your queen.” She smirked, pressing her lips to his cheek. “If you let me, at least.”
"Mm. I'd like that." Lucas blushed and returned the kiss. "I'm still a worse worrywart than you are, though."
"I'd beg to differ, but I find it a little stupid that we're fighting over who's more paranoid. So I'm not going to." Melissa smiled, rather amused at the whole thing.
"Alright." Lucas snickered a bit and pushed into the clearing. "I guess that means I win then?"
Sighing with a light laugh, Melissa gave him a soft kiss. "Yes, that means you win Lu." She hummed, cupping his chin in her hand. "What do you want to have as your prize?"
"Well, spending time with you is pretty good." Lucas returned the kisses, humming happily. He made his way through the clearing and behind it.
Smirking softly, Melissa pulled away enough to only loosely hold on to his fingers. "Works for me, though you had the opportunity to tell me not to buy you anything." Melissa chirped, giving a soft smile.
Lucas sighed. "Is that still on the table?" He asked, laughing quietly. He tightened his grip on Melissa again.
Giving him a tight little smile, she continued to walk on. "We'll see." She hummed, watching her step.
Lucas kissed Melissa softly and led her to another clearing behind theirs. "It's really pretty back here as well."
"It is," Melissa chirped feeling rather giggly while she held hands with Lucas. "Though I like the tree best, it's just… special."
"Mhmm. The willow is like, my favorite thing in the world." Lucas smiled and looked out at the new clearing. There were a few more trees here, and another small pond.
"I'd agree, but I haven't been around very long." She hummed, giving a soft smile. "Though I'd say it's pretty spectacular."
Lucas nodded. "Pretty nice. I wish I could spend all my time there." He headed to the other side of the clearing and pushed through.
