"Yes, but not now," Monique said, tearing her eyes away from the portrait. "Come on, I'll show you the cafeteria and the lounge."
(No, it's spelled Matthews. Google it.)

Adrik took the stencil away from her arm, grabbing the tattoo gun.
"This is going to hurt," He said, starting up the machine, "Obviously."
He began to do the outline, making sure he got every last detail.
Lydia tried her best not to move, but she flinched away from the pain once Adrik had started. Eventually, she just decided to bite her lip to take away from the pain from her arm. She tried to look at his progress, and the tiger she wanted looked great, so far.
"The cafeteria," Monique said, pushing open the doors. It was a big room painted in a pale shade of blue. Long wooden tables were set in perfect rows for the Erudite members to sit. Many young Erudite were reading or talking.
Adrik quickly finished, wrapping it up and explaining how to care for it in the next few days.
"If you have any questions just come in and ask."
He quickly cleaned up the area, and prepping it.
"Next."
Jayden eagerly sat down. "Hey! I'd like a red rose on my upper arm, please."
Adrik turned, his eyes widening at Jayden's request.
"A-a what…?" He asked, allowing his tongue to toy with his shark bites.
"Did you say a rose..?" He asked, allowing a smirk to slip onto his face.
"Yes," she indignantly. "Is there a problem with that?"
He chuckled, pulling up his shirt to show a beautiful tattoo of roses on his shoulder, easily covered by his t-shirt.

"I have been working in this shop since I was ten, even if it wasn't always actually putting ink on somebody.." He said, as he began to put down the outline.
"Nobody has ever asked for a rose."
"I mean, I bet most people don't think it fits with the whole Dauntless persona. I wouldn't either, probably wouldn't have even mentioned it if I weren't trained to tell the truth."

//kinda what I imagined except with thorns
I just love the idea of my big manly Adrik having pretty pink flowers on his shoulder tbh
Adrik chuckled a bit, a smirk still spread across his face.
"Alright, I'm going to sanitize your skin, put on gloves and then start with the needles."
"Alright," she said, pulling her sleeve up.
He wiped down her arm, taking out the needles and starting on the outline.
Monique quickly led the girl to the lounge. Although it was really just another library with a couple tables with computers and coffee machine in the middle of the room. A faded blue beanbag slumped in a deserted corner.
"This place looks cool," she said, looking around.
Jayden winced when the needle poked in. It hurt. But she just clenched her teeth and waited for him to finish.
"Thanks, designed it myself." He said, giving her a small smile, and a quiet 'sorry', "So, you ready for training initiate?" he asked, raising his voice a little over the loud voices of the dauntless who had just exited the cafeteria, and where now walking around the pit.

“Y-yeah, I am,” she said after a moment, blinking quickly. “How long have you been here?”
Adrik sighed, smirking a bit.
"My whole life." he said, running his lips over the four silver hoops that pierced his lips.
"My father was always in dauntless, my mom was in Erudite, but transferred here when she was sixteen." He said, trailing off a bit when he mentioned his mother.
"Dad trained me to be fearless and smart, he was a dauntless leader before he retired."
“Oh,” she said, not noticing the hesitancy when he mentioned his mother. “Do you like it here?” She winced at another jab. It was different than the pain from slicing her hand open or breaking her knee or getting a paper cut, but it still hurt.
He nodded, his usual stoic persona coming back.
"Yeah, I was born and raised in dauntless, it's all I've ever known." He said, filling in the last few parts he needed to.
"Alright, that's done..now I just gotta fill it in."
“Okay,” she said slowly, subtly shifting. Are you just a tattoo artist?”
"No, I train the initiates, this year I lost a bet and had to train you transfers instead of the dauntless born, so, this should be fun." He said, smirking.
"Other than that I'll help out with the leaders here and there, nothing serious, just a few odd jobs." He said, wrapping the now finished tattoo.
She moved her arm and got up. “So you’ll be our trainer?”
"Sadly." He joked, running a hand through his long black hair, throwing on his leather jacket and leading her out of the small room and into the main waiting room, the neon lights beating down on him.
