”Betty!” Lysander called out, racing after her again.
”Betty!” Lysander called out, racing after her again.
"leave me alone just let me be I don't need you I don't need anyone" she cried
“No.” he argued. ”Betty, you're hurt, pregnant, and basically being hunted. This is the worst time for you to be on your own.”
She sighed and stopped
He caught up to her and stopped beside her. ”Please, tell me what’s wrong.” he begged.
"Henry's a jerk" she said
Lysander almost chuckled in agreement but settled for a nod. ”I know he is, but why did that make you run this time?”
She shook her head "I don't want to think about it" she said
He sighed and nodded again. ”Alright.”
She hugged him close
He smiled softly and gently hugged her back as he kissed her forehead.
Her eyes went wide and she gasped when a arrow hit her back, steaming
Lysander gasped when he saw the arrow. He went to pull it out but as soon as he touched it his hand started steaming as well. Which meant that it either was drenched in Holy Water or Vervain… Or just made out of the right kind of wood to kill a vampire.
She slowly started sliding dropping down to the floor
He kept his arm around her to keep her from falling, gritting his teeth as he finally pulled the arrow out of her back.
Her grip on him loosened slightly. She whimpered the wolfsbane and vervain spreading throughout her body
”Betty, stay with me.” he pleaded, shifting his hold to keep her upright and protected. ”I need you to trust me. I can cauterize the wound to stop the bleeding… It may even draw some of the poison out.” he offered.
She couldn't see straight everything was fuzzy she let out a breath her eyes getting heavy
”Hey. Hey, look at me.” he instructed trying to keep his voice calm despite the panic in his eye. ”Don’t…” he choked, carefully getting to his knees as he kept her in his arms. ”Stay with me, angel.”
Evan had felt the injury as soon as it happened and flew off to look for Betty. He was now just above them and about to land.
She looked at him carefully feeling herself drain
”No. No, don't you dare.” Lysander shook his head before bitting his wrist harshly. ”Don’t you leave me.” he said, holding his bleeding arm above her mouth.
Evan looked at the couple, his jaw dropping as he felt his heart slowing down again. The last beat was always the most painful when he felt her die before and was sure that this time would be no different if the blood didn't help.
She weakly pushed his arm away
Lysander gave a very small smile, a little encouraged by her moving. ”Come on, angel. Stay with me.” he said cupping the side of her face.
Once Evan saw the arrow, he held back a low growl as the air behind him shimmered again. He knew it had to be another attempt by the council. His eyes went over every detail around them as he looked for the would be assailant.
another arrow is coming towards the opposite direction towards her husband so she quickly pushed him down getting hit in the shoulder
Evan saw the direction the second arrow came from and ran towards the shooter, his fangs growing dangerously.
Lysander couldn't help the slight groan as he almost hit the ground from being pushed. His eyes widened when he saw the second arrow.
She grunted starting to fall down to the ground
Lysander quickly caught her, sitting back up. ”Hang on.” he warned before burning his hand again as he carefully pulled out the second arrow.
She felt herself slipping
Evan was still running after the archer. He was certain that he had seen something just disappear but he continued to follow.
Lysander held her against his chest. ”Betty?”
She looked up at him her eyes begining to glossen
