"fine I don't care I'm not coming back anyway" she said harshly

“W-What? I- Caroline?” He asked weakly, not sure why she was so mad at him. He had avoided raising his voice, and was still doing so.

What?" She aksed

"What are you talking about? Where are you going?" He asked softly, sound of shuffling following afterwards.

'away" she said

"You mean to tell me you're leaving? For good?" Brad was heart broken, he wasn't sure he could do it if she left.

"I'm going to come home and we're gonna talk" she said

"Are you mad at me?" He asked, not seeming to think it was fair if she was.

"no I'm not mad I'm just upset not at you just upset" she said

"I- I guess I'll wait to ask until you get back… please come home soon, I'm worried about you.." Brad whispered, beginning to pull the phone from his ear.

" I love you" she muttered

"Love you too… bye." Following his goodbye, the dial tone came as he had hung up.

She looked at Thomas " I'll pick you up tommorow early…can you put my tea in a to go cup" she asked

"You're not staying?" He asked her pausing in his tea pouring. "Is everything alright?"

"did you want me to stay" she asked a piece of hair failing in her face

"I-I mean… I just assumed…" Thomas mumbled, glancing down at the floor biting on his lip.

She got up and walked over to him

"It's not a big deal…" He mumbled, watching her walk up to him.

"what's wrong?" She asked

"I-I dunno. I'm overreacting, because I'm tired. It's probably best you leave, so then I can get up early." He laughed weakly, tucking her loose hair behind her ear.

She blushed a dark shade looking at him biting down on her bottom lip gently

(I'm so sorry- I swear I did…)

"I'll get your tea in a to-go cup. Just give me a second." Thomas whispered, pecking her cheek softly before turning to pour her a cup of tea.

She smiled " um if things get too bad can I come back" she asked

"Of course. I'll put a key outside by the door, I'm gonna head to bed so wake me up if you come back." He hummed, placing the lid on the cup. "Here you are."

She smiled taking the cup " thank you" she said kissing his cheek

"Drive safely, alright? I don't need you getting into an accident." He whispered, smiling at the contact. "Sleep well."

Caroline left the house and got on her bike putting her tea in the back cup holder and straddled her bike driving back to her apartment she shared with Brad she got off the bike carrying her tea inside the house

Brad was sitting on the couch, the room incredibly dark besides the light glow of one table lamp. He was exhausted, having only got a little bit of sleep before waking up. The whole situation with Caroline's disappearance didn't help either.

"What are you doing up?" She asked shutting the door
