She smiled gently at her husband as she had one of her earbuds in

Lysander smiled lovingly back at her, kissing her cheek.

Tyler slammed on the breaks as a car pulled in front of her making bettys seatbelt undo and she fell forward hitting her nose with a crack

Everyone jolted forward violently by the stop.

Laura-Beth started crying out of fear from the suddenness.

Henry rolled down the window and started yelling at the other driver to watch where they were going.

”Betty, are you ok?” Lysander asked as he helped her back into her seat.

Tears welled up in bettys eyes holding a hand to her nose where blood was coming out the cracks and shook her head

”Oh sh… It's alright love. It's alright.” Lysander said calmly, holding her protectively next to him. ”Henry, get back in the car. We’re going to have to go to the hospital.”

”Wouldn’t blood heal her right now?” Evan asked, looking at the couple in concern.

She cried into Lysander "I-It hurts" she sobbed

”I know, angel. I know it does.” Lysander said soothingly, gently rubbing her back. ”Tyler, please hurry.”

"I can't there's traffic" Tyler groaned

Betty cried even harder "m-make it stop"

”Alright, alright.” Lysander acknowledged, before unbuckling. “Just get there as soon as you can.” he said, opening his door and picking up Betty.

”Need any help?” Evan asked as Lysander carried Betty out of the car.

She cried apologizing thinking he was mad at her

”It’s not your fault.” Lysander assured her.

”You know how protective he gets.” Henry smiled gently. ”He’s just worried.”

"I'm a horrible person" she sobbed

”No, your not. It was just an accident.” Lysander said calmly. ”Henry’s right. I am worried and I hate seeing my wife in pain.” he explained.

"i shouldn't be your wife I suck at it" she cried

”No, you don't.” he told her, hugging her a little. ”I love you and I think you're amazing. Now hold on to me. I’m taking you to the hospital. Everyone else can meet us there when the traffic clears up.”

She cried holding onto him

He kissed her forehead and started running. Easily weaving through and sometimes over the mess of cars in their way.

Once they got to the hospital they took her back in one of the rooms

Lysander stayed near his wife as long as he could before the staff told him that he wasn't allowed any further. He was able to tell Betty that he loved her once more as she was taken away, leaving him to wait.

Betty walked out an hour later a Small bandage on her nose a bruise under her eyes on her cheeks and neck

Lysander sighed in relief when he saw her and gently wrapped her in a hug.

She hugged him closely

”How do you feel? Any better?” he asked still concerned as he looked at her bruises, the one on her neck confused him.

"i broke my nose and jacked up my neck

He nodded in understanding. “Minor whiplash?” he guessed.

She nodded with a sniffle

He held her gently against him. ”It’s alright, love. No need to cry about it.” he said kindly. ”At least they didn't make you have to wear one of those large neck braces.” he tried to encourage her.

She reached into the bag they had given her pulling out a black neck brace

He winced in sympathy as he saw that. ”I’m sorry, Betty. I’m just… gonna have to get my foot out of my mouth.”
