"40, 41, 42." She mumbled, getting quicker at counting. "That's for sure, I think it's more than both of us combined. 53 dollars. I have 32." Melissa smiled, gathering all the money. "Congratulations, you've won."
"40, 41, 42." She mumbled, getting quicker at counting. "That's for sure, I think it's more than both of us combined. 53 dollars. I have 32." Melissa smiled, gathering all the money. "Congratulations, you've won."
"Woo~" Lucas took the money and started putting it away. "My life is forever altered by this victory."
"I'm sure it is," Melissa giggled, watching him clean up the game. "It's the beginning of a new life, where everything goes perfect for you." She teased, poking his arm.
"God, I hope so." Lucas sighed softly, a weak smile on his face as he closed the box. "Here's hoping, yeah?"
“I’m sure things will start to get better Lu. I’ll do my best to make it happen.” She hummed, holding out her pinkie to him. “I promise you that much.”
"Thanks, Mel." He linked his pinkie with Melissa's smiling softly. Suddenly, the oven timer went off and scared the shit out of him. "Jesus!"
Surprised herself, she burst out laughing at his reaction. “What in the world?” She asked while laughing brightly. “Are you alright?” Melissa asked, still snickering at his reaction.
Lucas flushed in embarrassment, burying his red face in his hands. "Y-Yeah… just startled me a bit. It's… very loud."
(I… I feel like I found a song about Lucas trying to explain how he feels for Melissa- )
Biting in her lip, she held back the rest of her laughter. “Come on, let’s go get you some lunch.” She hummed, pulling his hands away from his face. “I bet you’re hungry.”
(Oooh what is it?)
Lucas just nodded and let Melissa drag him off to the kitchen, still rather embarrassed. "Are they finished?" He asked.
(I’ll grab a link in a second here)
“I mean, I would think so.” She hummed with a soft smile, letting go of his hand to pull the tray out of the oven. Putting on an oven mitt, she opened the oven to pull the tray out. “Looks like it to me.”
(Okay)
Lucas examined the tray curiously. "Yeah, I don't think they're burnt." He hummed, stepping back so he wasn't in the way.
(Boop)
Tossing a heat protective pad on top of the stove, she set the tray on top of it. "They'd be incredibly crunchy if they were. So they wouldn't be too bad." Melissa laughed softly, shutting the oven.
(I'll check it out later ^^)
Lucas grimaced playfully. "Eugh… crunchy chicken nuggets. That's disgusting." He laughed as well.
(Lol alright)
"I thought you said you weren't picky." She teased, tossing the oven mitt aside so she could boop his nose softly. "I don't blame you though, that sounds pretty nasty."
"The thought of crunchy chicken nuggets, though… that just makes me feel uncomfy." Lucas laughed, blushing a bit when Melissa touched his nose.
Humming, she went to grab two plates for them. "How many do you want?" She asked, standing on her toes to pull out two plastic plates from the top counter.
"Um… let's start with like… six…?" Lucas suggested, shrugging. "I don't really care that much.
Pulling the plates out of counter, she turned to him with a smile. "Sounds good, I set the juice boxes on the table, right?" Melissa asked him, carefully picking up the nuggets to put them on the plate.
"Um… yeah, I think you did." Lucas accepted a plate from Melissa and headed over to the table with her.
Picking up two napkins on the way, she set it on the table along with her plate. "Here, ketchup." She hummed, sliding it over to him with a smile.
"Thanks, Mel. Where did your parents go?" Lucas asked as he put some ketchup on his plate. "Do you want some?"
Shaking her head, she picked up the apple juice box. "I've got no clue. They're probably unpacking upstairs." She shrugged, sipping from the juice.
"Unpacking what?" He asked, sipping his own juice box. He shoved a nugget in his mouth and seemed pleased.
"From… from their trip?" She said softly, giving him an odd look. Moving on from that subject, she ate from her own plate with a light smile. "If you want to see them, I could always go find them."
"Oh, right…" Lucas took a bite of another chicken nugget. "Sorry, I'm kinda slow sometimes." He laughed softly.
"You're alright, I just started doubting myself." Laughing back weakly, she seemed to get distracted by him. Everything he did caught her attention, and she found herself starring at his face.
Lucas kept eating, not seeming to notice Melissa for a minute or two. He flushed a bit when he looked up and noticed she was watching him. "Uh… h-hi…?"
It took her a second to snap back into reality, turning bright red. "I… I'm sorry, I just got… got lost in thought." She mumbled, tilting her head away from his. 'You need to stop doing things like that! He doesn't like you like that.'
"It's fine, Mel." Lucas smiled softly and blushed harder as he got lost in his own thoughts, though he didn't stare at Melissa while doing so. I can't let her know that I like her…
