Nyx nodded a little bit, and let go of Jude. He stepped back, running a hand through his hair. He was smiling a little bit, reassured that Jude wasn't upset.

Jude stood up, checking his pockets to make sure he had everything before they'd leave. He smiled, nodding at the door out, "Let's go, hm?"

Nyx nodded, and took Jude's hand as they headed to the door, a soft little smile on his face. "Thank you for everything, Jude."

Jude looked at the ground, smiling softy as they walked out the little restaurant, "Yeah, it's…whatever. You don't gotta thank me."

Nyx shrugged a little bit. "Maybe…but I am." he replied, kissing Jude's cheek softly.

Jude smiled as he mumbled something dismissive and incoherent, swinging their linked hands as they crossed the street to get to his car.

Nyx smiled a little bit as they walked across the street, still holding onto Jude's hand. He looked over at Jude with a faint little smile.

Jude smiled back, searching through his pockets for his keys with his free hand and unlocked his car, letting go of Nyx's hand to walk over to the driver's side.

Nyx got into the car once Jude unlocked it, taking a deep breath and letting it out again. "So we're going to get clothes?" he asked.

"Yep," Jude said as he climbed in, fastening his seatbelt before he twisted the keys into the ignition. "Clothes for you, because you need 'em, and…I wanna see what you'll pick out," He said, smiling over at him.

Nyx smiled, getting buckled and looking at Jude. He swung his feet a little bit. "Alright. Thank you!" he said with a bright, happy little smile.

Jude smiled, nodding once before he backed out of the parking spot and drove onto the main road. "Hmm. So–" He said, "–Have you seen any particular…styles that you wanna check out? Like, on the people we've seen."

Nyx frowned a little bit, thinking. "No." he replied. "But I need long pants. And they can't have holes." he knew that he couldn't risk people seeing his legs.

Jude nodded. "Right. Pants," He said, merging onto the Madison Avenue Bridge, "And you'll just try on whatever you think is cool? There are lots of different shops."

Nyx nodded a little. "Yeah, I'll try on anything I want to." He smiled over at Jude again, kicking his feet a little bit.

Jude smiled at Nyx's bright expression, "Mhm, and– oh," He said, gesturing through the windows at the movement in the Harlem River, "Look! Kayakers."

Nyx looked, raising his eyebrows slightly. "Oh! That looks fun!" He exclaimed, pressing his forehead to the window to get a better look.

Jude softly laughed, turning his attention back to the road once they switched lanes. "You think so?" He smiled, glancing over at him pressed up against the side of the car, "Should we…add it to the list?"

Nyx turned back to Jude, and nodded excitedly. "Can we?" he asked eagerly, looking at Jude with bright, happy eyes.

Jude opened his mouth to say yes, but the words died in his throat as he realized something. "I wanna say yes," He said, his smile lessening, "–But how well do you…do…with water?"

Nyx frowned a little bit. "What do you mean?" he asked. "I…I don't know if I can swim, but…I should be fine. I'm not made of material that would rust."

"Oh," Jude said with a nod, "Then it shouldn't be a problem; they have lifejackets. So as long as it's safe for you– then, yeah. We'll go some time."

Nyx nodded a little bit, looking excited again. "So we can go?" he asked, looking at Jude happily.

"Yes," Jude smiled, casually honking at a slow driver, "We can go kayaking some time."

(Gtg for a while)

Nyx smiled excitedly. "Yay! Thank you, Jude." he leaned over and kissed Jude's cheek, squirming a little bit in his seat.

Jude let out a soft laugh, braking for two dads and their kid waiting to cross the street. "Mhm, you're welcome," He smiled, looking over at him with a smile.

Nyx's eyebrows drew together at the sight of the two dads, trying to figure something out. "Hey, Jude?" he asked slowly.

"Mhm?" Jude chimed, keeping his eyes on the road as they drove further down East Harlem.

"I thought children were made by a guy and a girl but that couple had a kid and they were both guys?" Nyx said slowly, looking at Jude in confusion.
